Homefield advantage has held in every game of the NLDS between the Chicago Cubs (92-70, 42-39 away) and Milwaukee Brewers (97-65, 52-29 home) and now the series shifts back to Wisconsin for a decisive Game 5 at American Family Field on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 8:08 pm ET.
Neither team has announced their Game 5 starter, but oddsmakers give Milwaukee the edge in the Cubs vs Brewers odds for Game 5.
Game 5 Cubs vs Brewers Odds
The opening CHC/MIL Game 5 odds list the Brewers as -130 favorites. The Cubs come back as slight +112 underdogs. The opening moneyline prices give the Brewers 56.52% implied win probability, compared to 47.17% for the Cubs The runline and game total have yet to open.

In the latest World Series odds, the Brewers are +800, slightly ahead of the Cubs at +1000.
MIL vs CHC Series Scores
Chicago’s Game 4 victory was the first win by an underdog in the series, with the Cubs cashing tickets as +105 ‘dogs. Chicago had actually opened as a slight favorite in Game 4 but, when Freddy Peralta was announced as the Milwaukee starter, the Brewers became road chalk.
Game 4 was also the first in the series to stay under the total (though many over bettors would have pushed on 7.0 in Game 3).
CHC vs MIL Probable Game 5 Starters
If the Cubs stick to their rotation, Shota Imanaga will start Game 5. He was bad in Game 2, giving up four runs on five hits (two homers) in just 2.2 IP during a 7-3 Cubs loss. Milwaukee’s lineup now has a .802 OPS against the 5’10 lefty in 95 at-bats.
The Brewers used Quinn Priester and Jose Quintana, the #2 and #3 starters on their depth chart, in Game 3 on Wednesday, Oct. 8th. Priester only lasted 0.2 innings, getting blasted for four runs on three hits and two walks in the first inning. He’d be pitching on three days’ rest but given that he only threw 39 pitches, the quick turnaround likely wouldn’t be prohibitive.
Quintana threw 49 pitchers over three scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and a walk.
The Brewers don’t have another traditional starter on the roster. In all likelihood, Game 5 will be another bullpen game, just as their Game 2 victory was. Aaron Ashby was the opener in Game 2, allowing three runs on three hits over 1.2 innings. He pitched one scoreless inning in Game 1 and 1.1 scoreless in Game 4.
