With post-NFL Draft rookie minicamps mostly completed this weekend, the freshmen are onto the Rookie Football Development Programs, which begin on Monday, May 12. Coincidentally, there’s been some developments to the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year odds since names were called April 24-26.
While the top-four favorites of Ashton Jeanty, Cam Ward, Travis Hunter, and Omarion Hampton remain the chalk, there are some notable movers (highlighted in bold below). For present purposes, I’ll move away from these four and look at the action lower down the board.
Let’s see if there are value bets available to be had.

Ashton Jeanty is currently the favorite to win NFL OROY for the 2025-26 NFL season, and the current favorite in our NFL OROY tracker. His odds have slightly lengthened to +250 to take home the award, and his probability has dropped below 30%, to 28.57%. A $20 bet on the new Raiders running back would net you a profit of $50.
Quarterbacks Shough, Sanders the Big Jumpers in OROY odds
No one’s stock jumped quite like Saints pivot Tyler Shough’s did, moving from +2200 odds to win OROY all the way to +1000 and in the Top 5 conversation.
Such is the case after incumbent David Carr recently announced his retirement, forced to the sidelines with a degenerative rotator cuff injury in his throwing shoulder.
The path for Shough, taken in the second round of the draft, isn’t a tough one, as he’ll compete with second-year pro Spencer Rattler and third-year player Jake Haener. The two played in low stakes action last season, with Haener earning a win in his lone start, while Rattler was the main man for six games.
New Orleans could still bring a vet in to bolster the competition, but Shough, at 25 (mature by usual NFL rookie standards) could earn that role from the jump.
The chance at winning the starting position also shortened Shedeur Sanders’ stock. Even though he was taken in the fifth round — a usual development round slot — you know how I feel: he’s likely the most talented QB in that Browns meeting room.
Beating out Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett isn’t daunting, and it would take some kind of Russell Wilson discovery for Dillon Gabriel to pick up as starter from day one.
Unlike Shough, Sanders has QB guru Kevin Stefanski as his head coach, an above average offensive line, and a defense that can be game-changing.
RB’s Henderson, Harvey Worth Consideration
There’s also buzz out of the Rockies, where Sean Payton is trying to mold RJ Harvey into his latest Darren Sproles, or even Alvin Kamara.
The second-round pick can be electric — as he posted 1,577 yards and 22 TD’s on a healthy 6.8 yard per carry average for UCF.
Despite being baked into a running-back-by-committee upon draft, there’s certainly high expectations out of Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson, whose odds have slid out of the 2000s to +1800.
Even with proven commodities Rhamondre Stevenson and Antonio Gibson in the RB room, the second-round pick is a legit three-down back that averaged 6.9 yards per touch over his four-year career at Ohio State.
Are Faders like McMillan and Golden Now Value Bets?
Among the faders on the board are a pair of first-round wide receivers, but it’s not uncommon for a WR to win OROY.
Caorlina’s Tetairoa McMillan is a major talent upgrade at the skill position, and can only help the development of Bryce Young, who showed flashes of his potential in Year 2.
McMilland dropped from +1400 to +1500 odds, but barring some unforseen circumstances, he’s a Day 1 starter and will be heavily involved in the Panthers’ pass attack.
Past NFL OROY Winners
It was a fall from +2200 to +2500 for Packers’ wideout Matthew Golden.
Green Bay’s first Round 1 pick at the position since 2002 has the ability to be the no. 1 receiving option of any offense, but his fall has to do more with the receivers already on the roster.
Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, and Christian Watson aren’t just going to allow the rookie to supplant them for top receiver. But if Golden meets the hype, this is a nice value wager worth a sprinkle.
Picks:
- OROY Winner: Sanders (+2000 at DraftKings)
- Best OROY Longshot: Golden (+2500 at DraftKings)
