The first two games of the Oilers vs Kings series saw both squads splitting in Edmonton. The festivities moved to Los Angeles for game 3 on Friday, and it didn’t disappoint. Connor McDavid scored twice for Oil Country, but the Kings outlasted them in overtime 3-2.
The win wasn’t without controversy and a slew of debate. In OT, Gabriel Vilardi may or may not have (depending on your point of view) knocked the puck down with a high-stick, which would’ve negated the winning marker. He then fed Trevor Moore, who potted the game-winner in front of a raucous home crowd that left Crypto.com Arena happy.
Heading into the series, the Oilers were heavy -220 favorites to advance to the second round. Despite being down 2-1 in games, they’re still the favorite at -120 with the Kings a +100 underdog. Read on for Oilers vs Kings analysis.

Edmonton Oilers Betting Analysis
The Oilers have had a tough time holding leads in this series. In game 1, they blew a pair of two-goal leads in the third period before dropping the contest in overtime. In game 2, they yet again coughed up a two-goal edge, though they rebounded for the victory.
In game 3, however, Edmonton lost another lead 18 seconds after taking a 2-1 edge in the second frame, then surrendered the winning goal in the controversial overtime. They’ve still won 15 of 18, with the three defeats all coming in overtime.

Connor McDavid tallied twice in game 3 after being held to just one assist in the first two battles. 30-goal scorers Zach Hyman (one assist) and Ryan-Nugent Hopkins (two helpers) haven’t found the back of the net yet. The squad has won five of six following a game scoring two or less. They’re also 9-2 in their last eleven games as a favorite of -151 to -200.
Los Angeles Kings Betting Analysis
Considering the LA Kings came into this series as a heavy underdog, they have to be thrilled up 2-1 with a chance to go back to Edmonton with a strange hold on the series. Adrian Kempe has paced the team with three goals and Alex Iafollo has two markers.
They’ve been getting fantastic goaltending from trade acquisition Joonas Korpisalo. He has a sparkling .931 save percentage through three tilts, which is far better than Stuart Skinner on Edmonton (.900).
Joonas Korpisalo may end up being the most impactful of all the deadline deals. Teams usually shy away from trading for a goalie in season, but Korpisalo doing his best to change that narrative. He's been excellent.

The under is 7-1 in LA’s last eight playoff games as an underdog of +110 to +150 (they’re +135 for game 4). Just four teams in the regular season had more than the Kings 26 home victories.
