The 36th round of fixtures in Serie A is highlighted by a match between Roma and Fiorentina, two teams in a serious run of good form.
Both clubs have performed admirably since the restart, and despite not having a whole lot to play for besides pride, will pack a punch this Sunday as they square off in Rome.
Roma vs Fiorentina Odds
Teams | Spread | Moneyline | Total at BetMGM |
---|---|---|---|
Roma | -1 (+105) | -167 | Over 2 ½ (-200) |
Fiorentina | +1 (-125) | +400 | Under 2 ½ (+150) |
Draw | N/A | +333 | N/A |
Odds taken on 7/24/2020.
Roma, led by striker Edin Dzeko, are the heavy favorites in this competition as they have won four out of their last five matches by an aggregated score of 15-5.
Despite this, Fiorentina have also found a successful spell, winning three and drawing three in their last six matches. History has proved that Giuseppe Iachini’s side has a chance in this one as well, and that they should not be counted out. Only three matches ago, they put in a blistering performance in the Coppa Italia, walloping Roma 7-1 just last year.
Roma Look to Build on SPAL Match
This past Wednesday, Roma put in one of their most impressive Seria A performances of the season. A 6-1 drubbing away at 20th-place SPAL featured five different goalscorers and countless highlights. Paulo Fonseca will look to build on this game Sunday, as Roma look to fend off AC Milan and Napoli for fifth place and a guarantee at Europa League play next season.

Their past game was just a glimpse of Roma’s goal scoring prowess and could be a hint towards a high scoreline once again on the weekend. However, they will be going up against a Fiorentina team that has only conceded 45 times this season, which is not all that bad given their squad and competition in mid-table Italy.
Roma vs Fiorentina Statistics

Can Fiorentina Garner a Stalemate?
Fiorentina are the clear underdogs in this scenario. Their form has been solid, but Roma has not been a joke for the past couple of years. They have proved time and time again they can score goals in bunches. But, in Fiorentina’s last match, they managed to stop the powerful and building Inter Milan. A 0-0 draw was all they needed to get a point and it is not crazy to think they could do it again. It will be hard to motivate a Roma team that has nowhere else to really go at the end of a long, drawn-out season.

Best Bet
With that being said, the best bet for this match is the under on 2.5 total goals, with odds of +150. These odds are truly valuable, and given Fiorentina’s defense as of late mixed with a little end of season hangover, do not expect these two clubs to produce that 7-1 result again on Sunday.
This match will probably be tightly contested, and could easily end 1-1 or 2-0 to a tough Roma side. Fiorentina could use the momentum going into next season, and their showing against Inter proved they can really pack it in when need be.
My Pick: Under 2 1/2 Total Goals (+150)
