- Iceland can strike blow in tight Group H with fourth straight win
- Free-scoring England can end surprise Kosovo streak
- Czech Republic need a win in Montenegro after weekend defeat
Iceland made a big impact at the last European Championships with a famous victory against England.
After a less impressive trip to last year’s World Cup, they are eager to enjoy themselves with their famously raucous fans at the Euros again next year.
They can take a big step in the three-way battle around the top of qualifying Group H by winning in Albania on Tuesday – offering a good value price at +139 for the victory at Elbesan Arena, Elbesan, at 2:45 pm EST.
Albania v Iceland Euro 2020 Odds
Team | Spread | Money Line | Total Points |
---|---|---|---|
Albania | pk, +½ -121 | +186 | Ov2 -118 |
Iceland | pk, -½ +101 | +139 | Un2 -102 |
Draw | N/A | +220 | N/A |
Prediction: Iceland to continue in winning form
*All odds taken at 2019/09/09
France, Turkey and Iceland are all equal on 12 points in the group standings. The French lead on goal difference with Turkey second and Iceland third.
The Nordic side have what looks like the toughest job of those three nations in this week’s fixtures.
Three-way Tussle at Top
With France certain winners at home against the minnows of Andorra and Turkey facing second-from-bottom Moldova, Iceland will know that it is imperative that they keep in touch with a good result in Albania.
Iceland defeated Moldova 3-0 at home in the latest round of fixtures on Saturday. France were 4-1 home victors against Albania with Turkey securing a nervous 1-0 win at home against tiny Andorra.
England – which stages the semifinals and finals of the tournament next summer – are romping away with Group A.
After a 4-0 thrashing by France in the second qualifying tie, Iceland have won three successive matches against Albania, Turkey and Moldova.
Group H
It's set to go to the wire in Group H, as France, Turkey and Iceland all have 12 points, with goal difference separating the teams in that order.

The Albanians were beaten 2-0 at home by Turkey in their opening game and won their other home tie 2-0 against Andorra.
England – which stages the semifinals and finals of the tournament next summer – are romping away with Group A.
It looks like they face their toughest task so far when the surprise qualifying contenders of Kosovo visit on Tuesday at St. Mary’s Stadium, Southampton at 2:45 pm EST.
But the home team have been scoring so freely that a spread of -2.5 at +106 looks attractive.

England v Kosovo Euro 2020 Odds
Team | Spread | Money Line | Total Points |
---|---|---|---|
England | -2½ -3 +106 | N/A | Ov3, 3½ -118 |
Kosovo | +2½ +3 -126 | N/A | Un3, 3½ -102 |

Prediction: England’s goal-getters to turn it on again
England have so far defeated Czech Republic 5-1, Moldova 5-1 and Bulgaria 4-0.
Those odds, however, reflect the fact that Kosovo are unbeaten in the group and are placed second following their 2-1 defeat of the Czech Republic in Pristina on Saturday.

The Kosovans have displayed good away form. They drew 1-1 in Montenegro and then won 3-2 in Bulgaria. They have conceded only five times in the group while scoring seven.
Unbeaten Streak
They will bring the longest unbeaten run in Europe of 15 games to Southampton.
Conversely, that could make the odds of -126 for a spread bet at +2.5 – restricting England to a win by fewer than three goals – look like a decent calculated opportunity. They could keep things tight and frustrate their hosts.
The Three Lions are in a hungry mood with Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane in ravenous goal-scoring form after each claiming hat-tricks in the group.
But in the search for value, it should be remembered that Kosovo have not faced so far in this group anything like the quality England possess.

Sterling hit three in the defeat of the Czechs and also scored against Bulgaria on Saturday. Kane scored three times against the Bulgarians – including two penalties. Each has scored a total of five times in the group.
It has to be remembered that none of Kosovo’s 15 undefeated games has been against a major football nation.
Forward Sterling has also scored five times already for Manchester City in the EPL while Kane has three goals for Tottenham Hotspur.
Agreed.

A 2-2 draw in Denmark in a friendly and Saturday’s victory against the Czechs are the most impressive results in the streak.
Mission in Podgorica
In the same group, the third-placed Czech Republic will be desperate to keep alive their qualifying hopes. So they are invitingly priced at +101 to win in Montenegro at City Stadium, Podgorica, at 2:45 pm EST.
The Czechs defeated Montenegro 3-0 at home in June.
Montenegro v Czech Republic Euro 2020 Odds
Team | Spread | Money Line | Total Points |
---|---|---|---|
Montenegro | +½ -121 | +245 | Ov2, 2½ -114 |
Czech Republic | -½ +101 | +101 | Un2, 2½ -106 |
Draw | N/A | +225 | N/A |
Prediction: Czechs to secure much-needed victory
Meanwhile, Montenegro have yet to win in the group and are placed fourth with just two points.
They drew their opening game 1-1 in Bulgaria. After the 5-1 thrashing by England, they then drew 1-1 at home with Kosovo. They were then defeated by the Czechs.
Both away ties have been lost by the Czechs. But with Kosovo facing a huge task in England, there is the opportunity for them to climb to second in the group by winning in Montenegro.
