Scary news from New England as quarterback Tom Brady injured his left knee on a joint practice the Patriots were having against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Wednesday. The MRI came back negative, but Brady is listed day to day and he might not see the field on Friday.
He’s expected to practice on Thursday, but no one is sure if Brady will play against the Bucs for the second week of the preseason.
“I understand from people who were standing out here it may have looked serious,” Kraft said. “I don’t have a definitive answer. And in classic [coach] Bill Belichick fashion, I will tell you a little bit more though, and just say I don’t believe it’s serious, but I do not know.”
Brady injured his left knee four minutes into the 208 season lost the entire years; that’s why people got worry about the situation.
Bucs defensive lineman Adrian Clayborn pushed Patriots offensive lineman Nate Solder into Brady’s leg, and the world stopped. Sportsbooks around the world took down every prop bet and future bets involving the Patriots, for obvious reasons.
“You always have to stay away from the quarterback, but if you have a guy on his heels, my instinct is to keep going,” Clayborn said.
“Coach Belichick and I stressed to our teams: Let them throw the football,” Schiano said. “Rush the passer, but go by them and don’t get around them. I can’t tell you [more] because I didn’t see what happened.”
The Patriots are 2.5 favorites for the matchup on Friday.
