Huskies Looking to Rebound
Washington has lost three of their last four games, including consecutive defeats to ranked Oregon and Utah teams. The Huskies only lost those two games by a combined nine points, but they blew second-half leads in both contests.
Despite owning a 5-4 record, the Huskies have been competitive in every game this season. They’ve won their five games by an average of 25.8 points, while they’ve lost their four games by an average of just five points.
The Huskies haven’t been able to hang on to leads this season, and they’re due for a complete game soon. Washington has been up at halftime in three of their four losses to Pac-12 teams this season.
QB Jacob Eason is having a strong season and will be looking to bounce back after committing three costly turnovers against Utah. He should turn in a big performance against a Beavers pass defense allowing 253.1 yards per game.
Oregon State Has Won Two Straight
The Beavers are coming off consecutive impressive victories road victories against California and Arizona . They beat the Golden Bears 21-17 before beating the Wildcats 56-38 last week. The Beavers need two wins to become bowl eligible for the first time since 2013.

While QB Jake Luton, WR Isaiah Hodgins and RB Artavis Pierce are leading a strong Oregon State offense, the defense could be the team’s downfall against Washington. Outside linebacker Hamilcar Rashed Jr. leads the nation in tackles for loss (17½) and is tied for second in sacks (12), but Oregon State still ranks outside the top-100 in total defense and have a lackluster secondary.
Huskies Have Dominated Beavers
Washington has won seven straight games against the Beavers, including a 42-23 victory in Seattle last season. In the last six meetings, Washington has won by over 20 points. The Huskies rushed for over 200 yards in the 2018 matchup and jumped out to a 28-3 lead.
While Oregon State has homefield advantage this time, the road team has actually covered the spread in the last four meetings. Washington has also played well on the road this season and covered in two of three away games.
Salvon Ahmed Could Be X-Factor
Eason has been great for Washington this season, but top RB Salvon Ahmed could be the difference against the Beavers.
The junior has 712 yards and seven touchdowns this season, but he was held to just 55 yards rushing against Utah. He’ll likely bounce back against a Oregon State team that struggles to defend the run.

Washington’s run game played a key role in their victory over Oregon State last season, and they can rely on it again this time. Ahmed rushed for two TD’s in the 2018 contest and will be factor again this time.
The Beavers are allowing 186.1 yards per game on the ground and had no answer for Utah’s talented RB Zack Moss and Oklahoma State’s superstar RB Chuba Hubbard in respective losses to the Utes (50-7) and Cowboys (52-36) this season.

As good as the Beavers have been playing, I don’t think they’re good enough to shut down Washington’s offense. We saw what Utah and Oklahoma State were able to do against this defense this year when they both torched the Beavers for over 50 points.
This has been a very frustrating season for Huskies fans, and nobody expected four losses already at this point.
Lutton and Hodgins will put up a few touchdowns, but the Huskies will continue their dominance in this series by relying on their offense to exploit the Beavers defense and cover the spread.
