  • On Saturday, January 11th at 12:30 pm EST, Tottenham Hotspur host league leaders, Liverpool, in an imperative Premier League clash.
  • Liverpool look to remain unbeaten and take their point tally to 61, while Tottenham and Jose Mourinho seek to gain three points and edge Manchester United for fifth place.
  • Currently, Liverpool are the favorites with a moneyline of -137.

Another weekend, another massive Premier League contest for Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool as they look to further their lead on Leicester City and Manchester City in Tottenham. Their lead currently stands at 13 with a game in hand, which quintessentially means the entire league will be cheering for the Spurs this weekend.

However, unluckily Jose Mourinho will be without his go-to man, Harry Kane for the match as he pulled his hamstring against Southampton last week. Not having their 11-goal star, will force the London team to bring out a revamped offense including the likes of Son and Lucas Moura. Will it be one powerful enough to get by the likes of Liverpool’s star-studded defense of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez who have held five consecutive clean sheets in the Premier League? That is yet to be seen.

Liverpool Look Unstoppable On All Fronts

The past six games for the Reds have all been victories, winning on a combined score of 11-1. Some of these games included a Club World Cup final, a drubbing against Leicester City away from home, and a Merseyside Derby ran by Liverpool’s kiddies. It seems that the circumstances do not really matter—this team is playing like champions and getting the job done no matter where it is or what competition is taking place.

The Merseysiders recent record against Spurs goes to show that this weekend will probably not be the one that sees them drop points either. After their 4-1 defeat in 2017 at Wembley Stadium, Liverpool have drawn once, won three games by a score of 2-1, and the Champions League Final of course, by a score of 2-0 thanks to Mo Salah and Divock Origi. They seem to always have this team’s number for some reason, and without Kane, it will be extremely difficult for a Spurs team lacking form.

In London, things could be much better for a side that saw themselves as European runners-up last season. After the sacking of Mauricio Pochettino and the hiring of “The Special One” Jose Mourinho, they see themselves in sixth place in the Premier League on just a mere 30 points.

They have only won two games from their last six with wins against Wolves and Brighton, while managing to lose against city rivals Chelsea, and Southampton. While they probably will not beat Liverpool, it will be interesting to see what they can muster up.

Best Bet

The best bet for this matchup is to bet the outright Liverpool win at -137. The odds are not fantastic, but given the history and past scorelines being so tight and Harry Kane being out, the final goal tally is so unpredictable in a game like this, especially with Jose at the helm of the other side. I would go as far as saying this is a lock for Liverpool.

My Pick: Liverpool (-137)
