- Jon Rahm leads the Memorial Tournament after three rounds by four strokes over Tony Finau and Ryan Palmer
- On an extremely difficult moving day, Rahm tied for the best score with a 4-under, 68
- See the updated live odds at Muirfield Village heading into Sunday’s final round
Midway through the back nine Saturday Tony Finau looked to be in cruise control at the Memorial, leading by three shots and playing inspired golf. However, it all fell apart, as he posted two dreadful double bogeys, and Jon Rahm seized advantage with four straight birdies to open up a big lead heading into Sunday.
Because the fiery Spaniard has had mixed results in his last four times teeing it up, you could’ve gotten him at relatively decent +2200 odds heading into the week. Now he’s a heavy -400 favorite to pick up his fourth career PGA Tour title.
Since the tour returned from the three-month hiatus due to COVID-19 many golfers have had a chance heading into Sunday, but this event features a vastly different feel with the players in a tie for fifth a full seven shots behind Rahm.

Jon Rahm Has Strangehold on Memorial Tournament
What a difference an hour makes – it looked like Jon Rahm might have an uphill climb to emerge victorious on Sunday more than halfway through the round on Saturday but then he turned on the jets while everyone else around him crumbled down the stretch.
Two players shot in the 60s today.

Unsurprisingly, Rahm is first in strokes gained: off the tee and tee-to-green this week, as he’s remained patient, carding just four bogeys throughout the tournament, which has been remarkable given how difficult the course has been set up.
Jon Rahm on the conditions: A scratch club champ wouldn't break 80 today. Later amended that to break 90. Then: 4 scratch club champs, in a scramble, wouldn't break par. Of his 68: "Today could be one of the best rounds of golf I've played in my life."

Ironically he held the 54-hole lead over Ryan Palmer as well earlier this year at the Farmers Insurance Open. Both Rahm and Palmer weren’t able to get it done that Sunday, though with a win tomorrow Rahm could ascend to #1 in the world rankings for the first time ever.
Jon Rahm's 4-shot lead is tied for the 2nd-largest 54-hole lead in the history of the Memorial Tournament. Only Scott Hoch (1987) has blown a 54-hole lead that large at Muirfield Village.

Even though you’re getting next to no value in wagering on Rahm heading into the final round, you’d be hard pressed to think he’ll collapse. That’s especially true because he tasted victory three times last year so he knows how to close out events plus Tony Finau has just once tour victory to his credit and Palmer hasn’t had an individual win in a decade, not to mention the fact that they’re also four shots behind.

Best Live Value Picks at the Memorial Tournament
- Tony Finau (+750): Despite the fact he crashed and burned on the back nine, he has the length to do damage on the par 5’s, plus he might be playing looser without the lead since wins have been elusive from him out in front of the pack. First in birdies this week (18).
- Danny Willett (+2500): No stranger to winning on the big stage with a fantastic final round, like he did at the 2016 Masters when he trailed by three entering the final day. Second in strokes gained: putting this week and was T-4th in his last start at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.
- Patrick Cantlay (+10000): Last year’s Memorial Tournament champion came storming back on the final day with a ridiculous bogey free 8-under, 64 to steal the tournament. Will need a huge Sunday and a stumble by Rahm because he’s nine shots back, but if anyone can do it, he can. Eighth in scoring average this season and T-13th in final round scoring.
