The COVID-19 pandemic forced a postponement of the Phillies/Yankees series last week, but they’ll finally be able to wrap it up Thursday when they meet for a 6:05 p.m. ET first pitch at Citizens Bank Park.
Jordan Montgomery gets the start for the Yankees, opposite Zach Eflin for the Phillies. The Yankees vs Phillies odds have NYY as heavy as a -170 favorite.

Montgomery off to Solid Start
The Yankees had understandably high hopes for Jordan Montgomery after his 2017 season, when the then-24-year-old earned Rookie of the Year votes and posted a 3.88 ERA in 29 starts.
He has only made nine appearances in the majors since thanks to an elbow strain that later needed Tommy John surgery.

Thankfully, he’s back. He kicked off the 2020 season in a great way last week, allowing just one run in 5.2 innings in a winning effort over the Red Sox.
Only Andrew McCutchen has ever faced Montgomery, going hitless in two at-bats.

All Rise for the Judge
Aaron Judge is off to arguably the hottest start among hitters this season, with seven home runs through his first 10 games (most in the majors). Judge added to that total off the Phillies on Wednesday.

He has never faced Zach Eflin, so that should be interesting to watch, but he has obliterated the opposition so far.
Judge, a former Rookie of the Year, also leads the American League in slugging percentage, OPS, runs and total bases. Scary stuff.

Better Late Than Never for Eflin
Zach Eflin probably would’ve had his number called to start against the Yankees last week — when their matchup was initially scheduled — before a COVID-19-related cancellation forced the series to be delayed.
Now, not only will he have another chance to face the Yankees, he’ll have a chance to make his first start of the season. Eflin, 26, is coming off his best season to date in 2019: 4.13 ERA, two complete games (NL high), and a 109 ERA+.

He has only faced the Yankees once previously, tossing seven scoreless innings on four hits and two walks in 2018.
Record-Setting Bombers
The Yankees’ franchise is nearly 120 years old, but they can still set records.
On Wednesday, the team homered for the 11th consecutive game to begin the season, thanks to a bomb from Luke Voit.

We know the Yankees can rake. This is nothing new. They hit 306 homers last year, which would’ve set a single-season MLB record if not for Minnesota’s 307 homers that same season.
This is a dangerous team, which might not be terribly welcoming to Eflin in his debut start.
Pick: New York Yankees, -150
