Preparing to face the Philadelphia Eagles in the Week 7 edition of Thursday Night Football, the New York Giants find themselves elevated into rarified air. They were the only NFC East team to win last week.
Winning a game in Philly, well that’s an entirely different matter for the Giants. They haven’t won any games against the Eagles since 2016. The last time the Giants won at Philadelphia was in 2013.
Oddsmakers don’t foresee a favorable turn of luck heading in the direction of New York’s NFC team this week. The Eagles have been established as 4.5-point favorites.

Kickoff is set for 8:20 pm EST at Lincoln Financial Field. The forecast is for clouds, 8 mph wind, and a temperature of 74 degrees.
The NFC Least
The Eagles are 1-4-1. The Giants are 1-5. Why should anyone outside of these two markets even care about this game?
Well, for starters, the winner could conceivably be the division leader by the end of Week 7. Like it or not, in the NFC East, these two football teams are legitimate playoff contenders.
So it’ll be the 1-5 Giants at the 1-4-1 Eagles on Thursday night. Fun!

Even though they’ve lost the past two weeks, the Eagles hung in there against the Pittsburgh Steelers (5-0) and Baltimore Ravens (5-1), among the NFL’s better teams. They also put up a combined 57 points against two of the league’s best defenses.
The Giants beat Washington last week, and Philly lost to Washington. However, the Eagles beat San Francisco and the 49ers waxed the Giants 36-9.
Jones vs Eagles Pass Rush
The football and Giants quarterback Daniel Jones often don’t stay acquainted for long. In 19 career NFL games, he’s been intercepted 18 times. Jones has fumbled an alarming 22 times.
He’s been picked off in five of six games so far this season. Jones fumbled in four of those six games, losing three of them.
Nick Gates says the Giants' offensive line met for about an hour today to begin breaking down video of the Eagles, taking advantage of what little time they have.

Facing the Philadelphia pass rush, Jones and ball separation seem inevitable. Philly’s front four of Fletcher Cox, Brandon Graham, Javon Hargrave, and Derek Barnett figure to get up close and personal with Jones quite often.
The Eagles are fourth in the NFL with 21 sacks and seventh with 56 QB pressures. Jones has been sacked 17 times. That’s eighth in the league.
Injury Updates
The Eagles got a bit of good news on the injury front. Wide receiver DeSean Jackson (hamstring) will return to the lineup. He’s missed the three previous games.
However, tight end Zack Ertz (ankle), wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (calf), and running back Miles Sanders (knee) are key offensive starters who are out. The defense will be missing starting defensive tackle Malik Jackson (quadricep).
Eagles expect Miles Sanders to miss Thursday night's game with knee injury… Zach Ertz also expected out for 3-to-4 weeks with an ankle injury, according to sources.

Of course, the Giants are without running back Saquon Barkley (knee). He’s on IR.
They’ve been gutted at WR. Sterling Shepherd, Cody Core and David Sills V are on IR. CJ Board (concussion) is out and Da’Mari Scott opted out of the season. Darius Slayton (foot), who’s caught all three of Jones’ TD passes, is expected to play.
Trend Spotting
Overall, the Eagles have won seven in a row and 11-of-12 against the Giants. New York’s lost six straight games and nine of the last 11 at Philadelphia.

The betting line opened at Eagles -4.5 and hasn’t moved. The Giants are 0-13 straight up the last 13 times they’ve been an underdog. Philadelphia, though, is just 2-4 against the spread in its last six against the Giants.
