The Buffalo Bills can do something they have not done in 25 years when they visit the Denver Broncos at 4:30 p.m. ET Saturday at Empower Field.
With a win, the Bills (10-3) will clinch their first AFC East title since 1995. They are five-point favorites to beat the Broncos (5-8) and the over/under is 49.5 points.
Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen has thrown for 3,641 yards, which is fifth on the Bills’ single-season list. His 35 touchdowns (28 passing, six rushing and one receiving) are a franchise record, one more than Jim Kelly had in 1991.
Broncos second-year quarterback Drew Lock is coming off the best game of his nascent career when he threw for 280 yards and four touchdowns in a 32-27 road victory over the Carolina Panthers last week.

Bills Digging Diggs
The Bills traded plenty of draft capital to the Minnesota Vikings for wide receiver Stefon Diggs. It is safe to assume Buffalo has no regrets.
Diggs leads the NFL with 100 receptions and is one catch away from breaking the Bills’ single-season record set by Eric Moulds in 2002. Diggs also has 1,167 receiving yards and five touchdowns.

In last week’s 26-15 win over the visiting Pittsburgh Steelers, Diggs shined in the spotlight of Sunday Night Football with 10 catches for 130 yards. He matched his season high in receptions and the yardage total was his second-highest of 2020.
Diggs is a touch matchup under normal circumstances but especially difficult right now for the Broncos, who have lost five cornerbacks to injury in the last two weeks. That list includes starters A.J. Boyue (PED suspension) and Bryce Callahan (foot).
Though the Broncos are 10th in the NFL in pass defense, it is hard to imagine them containing Diggs in their depleted state.
PICK: Stefon Diggs OVER 82.5 receiving yards (1 unit)
Unsung Patrick
The Broncos have been playing without their top wide receiver for more than three months. Courtland Sutton played in only one game before needing season-ending knee surgery.
Denver’s passing game has certainly suffered without Sutton. The Broncos are 27th in the league in passing yardage.
However, Tim Patrick has emerged to at least soften the blow.
The third-year player’s 43 catches are the most of any Broncos wide receiver. He also has 643 yards receiving for an average of 15.0 yards a game and six touchdowns.

Patrick has been getting more attention from defenses in recent weeks and has totaled just 80 yards in the last three games.
However, one of those games the Week 12 debacle when the Broncos were forced to start practice squad wide receiver Kendall Hinton at quarterback in a 31-3 loss to the New Orleans Saints because of COVID-19 issues.
All three of Patrick’s 100-yard receiving games this season have come about AFC East teams. He is due to break out of his slump against the other team from that division.
PICK: Tim Patrick OVER 49.5 receiving yards (1 unit)

Who Will Score?
The Bills have scored the first touchdown in nine of their 13 games this season. They have also spread the ball around early with seven different players accounting for those nine TDs.
Diggs would seem to be the logical choice but he also has the shortest odds. So, let’s take Allen, who has scored six touchdowns this season and 24 in his three-year career.

The pick for a TD at anytime is Broncos running back Melvin Gordon.
Gordon has a team-leading seven touchdowns this season. He also found the end zone three times in a game against the Bills last season while playing for the Los Angeles Chargers.
PICKS: Josh Allen to score first TD (0.5 unit), Melvin Gordon to score anytime TD (0.5 unit)
