It’s been a wonderful month of soccer in the 2’14 World Cup, but this weekend we will get the last two games of the tournament; first Brazil and Netherlands will play in the games no one wants to be in on Saturday, and on Sunday, Germany and Argentina clash for the higher glory.

Brazil vs. Netherlands- Third Place

Brazil needs to win the third-place game; they were so horrible against Germany in the semifinals that they need to win to leave a good image for their people.

“I know my career will be marked by this defeat, but we have an obligation to move on and think about the next goal, which in this case is the match for third place on Saturday in Brasília,” Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari said. “I know it’s a much smaller dream than we all wanted but we have to honour the shirt of the national team.”

Netherlands don’t want to be here; they think playing for the third place is a waste of time.

‘I hope I can prepare them to play a good match. It will be my last match and the players may want to give me a present in the form of a victory so we can leave undefeated. ‘It’s quite something to go seven matches unbeaten,’ says Louis Van Gaal.

The World Cup odds have Brazil +115 to win the game and Netherlands is +260; the draw is +280.

Best pick: Brazil.

Germany vs. Argentina, Final

Germany and Argentina will play for the World Cup title for the third time; in 1986, Argentina beat the Germans 3-2, and four years later the Europeans had their vengeance.

Joachim Lowe has put together a team for the ages that most recently smashed Brazil 7-1 in the semifinals.

“I sometimes smile when I read reports that Loew must listen more to the German public,” said assistant Olliver Bierhoff about Lowe.

“He’s always ready to listen and compromise, he likes debating things with his own players and coaches. This man is not a dictator. Neither is he shy about hard decisions. He is honest with his players. The overall success is a jigsaw puzzle, but Loew’s piece is the biggest.

Argentina’s last final was in 1990 when they lost in Italy against Germany; back them they had Diego Maradona as their star, this time is all about Lio Messi.

“I love Messi and he is the most wonderfully gifted player I have seen since Maradona,” former England striker Gay Lineker said. “But I have been marginally disappointed. There is something not right. He has become very static. I went to the semi-final [against Holland] in São Paulo and watched him closely and there is so little movement now.

Germany is the favorite +130 to win the final, and Argentina is at +270; the draw over 120 minutes is at +225

Best Pick: Germany.
