The Knicks head into this matchup as a 5.5-point favorite and moneyline odds of -225 for an implied win probability of 69.23%. The Thunder come back at +185. The total is set at 225.
OKC actually dominated this matchup in 2021-22, winning both meetings. In fact, they’ve beaten New York in six of their last seven games.
SGA Keeping Oklahoma City Afloat
No one believes the Thunder are going to contend anytime soon but with a budding superstar in Gilgeous-Alexander balling out on a nightly basis, there is a chance this team can potentially fight for a play-in spot. It’s not totally out of the question. At 5-7, they’ve notched wins over the Clippers on two occasions, Dallas, Orlando, and most recently, Toronto.

SGA had a rather quiet night for his standards in 2022-23, posting just 20 points. But, the rest of the rotation flourished, with eight different players finishing in double-figures, including every single starter. Gilgeous-Alexander is now averaging 30.5 points, 5.5 assists, and 4.4 rebounds per night in 11 games and will undoubtedly be a key factor on Sunday.
OKC just honestly outplayed the Raptors in numerous areas, outscoring them 70-46 in the paint, killing them on the fastbreak by a score of 17-8, and outshooting Toronto by a huge margin from the field. This was the definition of a confidence-boosting victory. But, the Thunder are just 1-4 on the road, which isn’t exactly a good sign for Sunday.
Knicks Playing Well at Home
New York isn’t exactly shining in any particular area. They’re around the middle of the pack in offensive and defensive rating, draining just 32.5% of their triples, and boast a true shooting percentage of just 55.1, which is 24th in the Association. However, the Knicks are managing to play well at MSG, posting a 4-2 record.
That was the case on Friday thanks to the brilliance of RJ Barrett and Jalen Brunson, who combined for 56 points. Barrett poured in a team-high 30, while Brunson had 26 and dished out seven assists, too. The Pistons made a run in the fourth quarter but NY managed to hold on thanks to some clutch buckets.

The Knicks continue to struggle with the three-ball though, shooting a measly 25%. Thankfully, they controlled the boards and held the advantage on second-chance points. Plus, Detroit was without Cade Cunningham. That helped, too. New York has now won two of their last three.
Thunder vs Knicks Prediction
OKC is just 1-4 ATS in their previous five games. But, it’s hard to ignore their brilliance against the Knicks. For that reason alone, the Thunder are worth a pick here.
Pick: Thunder +5.5 (-110)
