The Minnesota Timberwolves (7-8, 3-3 away) finish up a four-game road trip on Saturday night in the City of Brotherly Love against the Philadelphia 76ers (8-7, 5-4 home) at the Wells Fargo Center. The tip-off is set for 7:30pm ET.
Minny isn’t living up to expectations after acquiring star big man Rudy Gobert in the summer, but they’ve found a bit of a rhythm as of late, winning two straight against the Cleveland Cavaliers and Orlando Magic.
The Sixers meanwhile, beat the Bucks in the front end of a back-to-back on Friday.

The Sixers/Timberwolves are a slim half-point favorite here with moneyline odds of -108.
Philly has dominated Minny in recent memory, winning nine of the last 10 meetings.

Is Minnesota Turning a Corner?
After bringing in Gobert to pair with Karl-Anthony Towns, many people believed the T-Wolves would be a contender in the West. Early on, that hasn’t been the case. They’re a game below .500. However, after a slow start, it appears Minnesota could be turning a corner.
The win over a slumping Cleveland squad was a good sign. Then, the Wolves came out and dominated the Magic on Wednesday, 126-108. The story of this contest was the star duo of Anthony Edwards and KAT showing out.
Ant dropped a team-high 35 points while grabbing eight boards and dishing out six dimes, while Towns put up 30. In fact, the entire starting five compiled a minimum of 10 points apiece.

While Chris Finch’s group managed to kill Orlando in transition by outscoring them 30-9, Minny has to start shooting the ball better from deep. They drained just 33% of their triples and have managed to hit only 33.5 percent of them in 2022-23, which ranks 25th in the Association. At least the Timberwolves are getting better looks, though. The ball movement is improving. It’s only a matter of time until those shots start to land.
Philly Finding Their Way Without Harden
The Sixers are only 8-7, but they’ve now won three consecutive games after the victory against Giannis and Co. on Friday. It was not an easy contest as Joel Embiid and The Greek Freak truly went toe-to-toe, but Philly managed to outduel the Bucks.
Embiid erupted for 32 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists while Tyrese Maxey had 24. However, the young guard exited early after twisting his ankle. He’ll undergo an MRI on Saturday. As a precaution, it’s likely he doesn’t play Saturday. If that is the case, Embiid will have to play out of his mind.

Doc Rivers’ squad really found their shooting stroke here, draining 46% of their threes and 51% of their field goals. It is important to note that Milwaukee’s atrocious 38% clip from the charity stripe played a massive part in the outcome. It ended 110-102, with the visitors missing 13 free throws. Giannis alone was a putrid 4-for-15.
T-Wolves vs 76ers Prediction
Both teams are trending in the right direction, but I’m liking Philadelphia at home. Taking down the Bucks is a big confidence booster. Maxey or not, Embiid will lead the Sixers to victory.
Pick: 76ers ML (-108)
