The Los Angeles Chargers (7-6) are a 3-point home favorite over Tennessee at 4:25 ET Sunday at SoFi Stadium. The Chargers have won two of their last three games and beat fellow AFC playoff contender Miami at home the last time out.

Tennessee (7-6) holds a two-game lead over Jacksonville in the AFC South despite losing its last three. The Titans have beaten only one team with a winning record, a 21-17 victory at 7-5-1 Washington on Oct. 9.

The Los Angeles Chargers are a 3-point favorite over Tennessee in a game with playoff implications for both. The Chargers are 10-2 straight up and 9-2-1 ATS in the series since 1998, but the teams have met only three times since 2016. The Titans won the last meeting 23-20 at home as a 2.5-point favorite in 2019.

The Chargers are 8-5 ATS this season and 3-3 ATS at home, covering as a 3-point underdog in a 23-17 victory over Miami the last time out. Tennessee is 8-5 ATS this season but has lost and not covered the last three, falling to Cincinnati, Philadelphia and Jacksonville.

Los Angeles Chargers’ Charging

The Chargers have won two of their last three to regain some footing in the AFC wild card race, although they remain on the outside looking in entering Week 14 because they would lose tiebreaker to 7-6 New England. The Chargers are coming off their best win of the season, 23-17 over Miami, their only victory over a team with a winning record this season. The schedule gets softer from this point with remaining games against Indianapolis, the Rams and Denver.

Quarterback Justin Herbert had one of his best games of the season the last time out, throwing a career-high 39 completions for 367 yards and one touchdown in his third straight game without an interception. It was his 21st 300-yard game, enabling him to become the first quarterback in league history to throw for 13,000 yards in his first three seasons.

Returning weapons Mike Williams had 116 yards receiving and a touchdown against Miami after missing four of the previous five with an ankle injury, and  Keenan Allen has 18 receptions for 180 yards and a touchdown the last two weeks after missing time with a hamstring injury.

The Chargers’ defense was supportive, bolding Miami to 219 yards total offense despite missing three starters, two in the secondary. Tua Tagovailoa had 145 yards passing, his lowest total as a starter. The Dolphins had the league’s top-rated passing offense coming in.

Tennessee in a Funk

The Titans have lost three in a row for the first time since coach Mike Vrabel’s initial season in 2018, and a constant during the losing streak — and throughout the season — has been an inability to handle some of the league’s best quarterbacks in the league.

Trevor Lawrence threw for a career-high 368 yards and also ran for a score in Jacksonville’s 36-22 in Music City the last time out, Jalen Hurts threw for 380 yards and three touchdowns in the Eagles’ 35-10 victory two weeks ago and Joe Burrow threw for 270 yards and the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter of Cincinnati’s 20-16 victory on Nov. 27.

Two-time NFL rushing leader Derrick Henry had his best game in six weeks against Jacksonville last week, rushing for 121 yards, but the Titans could not overcome four turnovers in that one. Henry has six 100-yard games, tied for the most in the league with Nick Chubb and Josh Jacobs, and is second in the league with 1,199 rushing yards for an offense has been almost completely dependent on the run this season. The Titans are 29th in the league in total offense, 16th in rushing, and 26th in scoring.

Tennessee vs Los Angeles Chargers Injury Report

Wide receiver Treylon Burks (concussion) is one of the seven Titans ruled out for the game. Sack leader defensive lineman Denico Autry (knee) is out, as are starting cornerback Kristian Fulton (inee) and cornerback Tre Avery (concussion).

The Titans have a two-game lead over Jacksonville in the AFC South with four games to play and seem assured of their third straight division title, although it has not been pretty lately. The Titans have failed to cover their last three after running off an 8-0 ATS streak.
