After a close win in Utah Saturday, the Philadelphia 76ers (26-16, 9-9 away) look for a second straight win on consecutive nights when they visit the Los Angeles Lakers (19-23, 10-9 home).
The Lakers are coming off a tough double OT loss to the Mavericks, in a game where they couldn’t hold a lead, or deliver a winning bucket in the closing seconds of both the fourth quarter and first overtime.
This is the second and final meeting between these teams this season. Philly went to overtime to bounce the visiting Lakers, winning 133-122. They’ve won five straight games against LA.
It all gets underway Sunday at 9:30pm ET from crypto.com Arena, in a game you can see live on NBA TV.

The NBA odds list the Sixers as a 3.5-point road favorite, in a game that features a total of 234.5.
Philadelphia occupies a top-4 spot in the East, 1.5 games behind the 2nd-place Nets. The Lakers, meanwhile, are in 13th in the West, though they are just a game behind the Phoenix Suns, who hold the 10th and final play-in spot in the conference.
Philadelphia Betting Analysis
The 76ers kicked off a 5-game road trip with a 118-117 win in Utah against the Jazz.
Joel Embiid’s jumper with 5.7 seconds left was the difference in this one, giving Philly it’s sixth win in the last eight starts.
Embiid finished with 30 points, seven rebounds and a pair of blocks. He was flanked by all-star teammate James Harden, who led the team in scoring with 31 points, 11 assists and six boards.

A top-4 shooting team from distance, they nailed 17-for-38 from three-point range, a crisp 43.6%.
On the year, Philly is just a middle-of-the-pack scoring unit, putting up 113.8 points per game, but they are tied with the third-best scoring defense, holding teams to 110.1 points per game. That defense also forces 15.5 turnovers a game (7th), and cashes those into 19.1 points (4th).
On the injury front, forward Tobias Harris (knee) is questionable.
Los Angeles Betting Analysis
After winning five straight, the Lakers have cooled, and will now try to avoid a third straight loss when they take to the court Sunday night.
They suffered a 119-115 2OT loss to Dallas last time out, dropping them to 10-9 at home, tied for the third-fewest home win in the Western Conference this season.
Russell Westbrook had a team-high 28 points, to go along with seven rebounds and five assists. LeBron James was the only other Laker to crack 20+ finishing with 24 points, 16 rebounds and nine assists.

James leads the list of walking wounded for LA, with an ankle injury, but is expected to be in the lineup.
The Lakers are still going to be without Anthony Davis (foot), Lonnie Walker (knee), Austin Reaves (foot). Patrick Beverley, who has a non-COVID illness, is questionable against the 76ers. Through 42 games, the LA has already used 23 different starting lineups.
Still, they’re a top-10 unit in scoring, putting up 116.6 points per game, doing a ton of damage inside, scoring 56.8 paint points per game (2nd). That helps offset a bottom-5 ranking in three-point shooting, where they hit at only 33.7%.
Their real struggle is on the defensive end, where they surrender 117.9 points per game, which is 27th in the league.

76ers vs Lakers Betting Prediction
Prior to making any wagers, hold until there’s a definitive call on the Philadelphia lineup. With it being the second game of a back-to-back, there’s always the possibility Doc Rivers sits Embiid or Harden, which obviously changes the calculus.
Philadelphia is one of the best bets in the NBA, going 23-18-1 against the spread, the 6th-best success rate. The Sixers are also 4-1-1 ATS on the second night of a back-to-back, and 4-1 ATS in the last five head-to-heads.
They’ve also been a solid over bet after a W, going 8-0 in their last eight following a victory.
Los Angeles has fared well when having a rest advantage, going 7-6-0 ATS, one of nine teams with a winning record in that scenario. However, they are 1-3-1 ATS in their last five against teams with a winning percentage over .600.
Assuming Philly plays all their guys, LA’s only chance of pulling this one out is to outscore their defensive woes. With the over going 5-1 after an LA loss, assume plenty of firepower in this one.
Pick:Â
- OVER 234.5 (-110); 1 unit to win 0.91 units
- NBA Betting Record: 23-19 ATS, 1-1 ML, 4-3 o/u, 0-2 parlays; +1.82 units
