No. 8-ranked and No. 2 seed Arizona (27-6) split the two meetings against the Bruins, winning at home but losing in the final regular-season game in Pauley Pavilion on March 5. The Wildcats have won four of their last six.

UCLA Still Rolling
The Bruins appeared to suffer a serious blow when they lost 6’5″ junior guard Jaylen Clark to a season-ending Achilles injury early in the second half of an 82-73 victory over Arizona at Pauley Pavilion in the final game of the regular season. Not only was Clark third on the team in scoring (13.0 points per game) and second in rebounding (6.0 per), he was days away from being named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year. The Bruins have played through that to extend their winning streak to 12.

Freshman Amari Bailey has joined seniors Jaime Jaquez Jr., Tyger Campbell and David Singleton in the starting lineup for the relatively easy trip to the tournament finals.
Bailey, who some consider the best NBA prospect on the team, had a career-high 26 points in an 80-69 victory over Colorado in the quarterfinals, complementing the continued strong play of point Campbell and wing Jaquez.
Campbell has 44 points and 13 assists in the tournament and Jaquez has 34 points and 19 rebounds. Jaquez had his eighth double-double of the season in the 75-56 victory over Oregon in the semis.
The Bruins play defense and value the ball, traits that helped them in their run to the 2021 Final Four. They have held opponents to 40,8 percent shooting from the field and committed only 10,3 turnovers a game, among the best in Division I.
Arizona Out for (More) Revenge
Arizona advanced to its second straight Pac-12 championship game and fourth in the last six seasons by knocking off Arizona State 78-59 in the semifinals, avenging an 89-88 home loss to the Sun Devils on Devan Cambridge’s 50-foot shot from midcourt as time expired on Feb. 25.
The Wildcats pushed the ball behind point guard Kerr Kriisa and run-the-floor big man Azuolas Tubelis, and they had 95 points and shot 63.8 percent in their 94-85 quarterfinal victory over Stanford.

The Wildcats are fourth in Division I in scoring (83.1 points per game), eighth in effective field goal percentage (56.5) and ninth in field goal percentage (49.3).
Coach Tommy Lloyd has a well-deserved reputation for identifying and developing big men, and 6’11” forward Tubelis (19.9 points, 9.1 rebounds) and 7′ center Oumar Ballo (14.3 points, 8.5 rebounds) are the latest examples. Both are shooting over 58 percent from field. Ballo had a 14/10 double-double with three blocks in the semis.
Five Wildcats are scoring in double figures, and guards Kriisa (10.4 points, 5.3 assists, 76 threes) and Courtney Ramey (10.9, 76 threes) are the principal outside threats. The Wildcats are 11-3 since Cedric Henderson Jr. moved into the starting lineup to replace Pelle Larson, a move made to increase bench production.
UCLA vs Arizona Prediction
This is a repeat of the 2022 Pac-12 Tournament finals when Arizona held UCLA to 42.0 percent shooting in an 84-76 victory.
NBA first-round draft pick Bennedict Mathurin was the best player on the floor that night, and for all the good things the Wildcats have done this season, they have not found a player with that same athleticism and explosive offensive impact.
Campbell and Jaquez typify the steady, smart approach that has brought UCLA this far, and there is no reason to believe that the Bruins will stop now.
