The Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles square off Saturday afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field after both teams won their preseason opener. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 pm ET.
Browns rookie QB Shedeur Sanders turned heads in Cleveland’s first preseason contest, throwing for 138 yards and two TD’s in a 30-10 victory. However, he’s expected to miss this one with an oblique injury. Eagles backup quarterback Tanner McKee is coming off a 20-for-25 performance with 252 passing yards and two TD strikes in a 34-27 win over Cincinnati. The table below lists the spread, moneyline, and game-total available on Saturday afternoon.
Cleveland Browns vs Philadelphia Eagles Odds
The Browns/Eagles spread sees the home squad as the four-point favorite at bet365. On the moneyline, Philly is the -210 choice, meaning you’d have to bet $210 to win $100 an additional $100. Conversely, a $100 wager on Cleveland to pull off the upset would pay out $175. The total is 37.0 points, which both squads combined to go over in Week 1 of the preseason.

SPORTSBOOK
Saturday’s NFL public betting splits show the Eagles getting a ton of love. Philadelphia has attracted 77% of ATS handle on 59% of wagers, and 80% of moneyline bets. The public is expecting a slew of points to be on the board, with 89% of wagers for the over 37.0 points total.

Who’s Playing in CLE vs PHI?
The Browns are expected to not have the services of rookie fifth round QB Shedeur Sanders, but another rookie signal caller in third round selection Dillon Gabriel (hamstring) should receive his first reps of preseason. Presumptive regular season starter Joe Flacco has been ruled out by Head Coach Kevin Stefanski, with Kenny Pickett also dealing with his own hamstring issue. That could point to Tyler Huntley also receiving reps.
The Eagles, on the other hand, are not expected to dress Jalen Hurts for this duel. There could be more of Tanner McKee after his sterling first preseason affair, along with Dorian Thompson-Robinson and rookie draft pick Kyle McCord taking more game reps to show improvement playing in the offensive system. DTR was 5-for-8 for 56 yards last week while McCord was 1-for-5 for eight yards and an interception.
Cleveland Browns vs Philadelphia Eagles Picks & Prediction
- Browns +4.0 (-110)
This game will be important for the Browns to evaluate how their rookie investment in QB Dillon Gabriel has panned out, given that he hasn’t been healthy. They were 3-14 last year, tied for the fewest wins with the Titans and Giants. The Eagles were on the other end of the spectrum, taking the Lombardi Trophy and are looking to shore up their depth at the pivot position, should something happen to Jalen Hurts.
Cleveland outgained Carolina 308-251 yards last Friday, holding down Carolina to just 40 yards on the ground, compared to 125 themselves. They were outgained through the air, 211-183, and 2024 saw the Browns fifth worst in yards per game on offense. As for Philly, they outgained Cincy by over 100 yards, with 75 more rushing yards, and they had 300 passing yards, despite not playing their starting QB.
In 2022, Philly won 21-20 over Cleveland in the preseason, then they played to a 18-18 tie in the 2023 preseason. In last year’s regular season, the Eagles were victorious 20-16 at home versus their counterparts. Underdogs went 8-6-2 on the moneyline in Week 1. I don’t love the uncertainty at QB for Cleveland to select them to win outright, but believe they can keep this one competitive, with the home team evaluating players lower on their roster with their starters pretty well set. I’m taking the +4.0 points for the Browns.
