- TE Rob Gronkowski will be looking for his third Super Bowl title with the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 53
- Gronkowski is in his ninth NFL season
- Books have s a prop bet on whether Gronkowski will announce his retirement immediately after Sunday’s game
Rob Gronkowski is a two-time Super Bowl champion, and a five-time Pro Bowl player.
He set NFL records for receiving yardage (1,327) and touchdowns (18) by a tight end in 2011 and was the first TE to lead the league in TD catches. Might all this be enough to get him to call it quits after Super Bowl 53?
Books are certainly wondering about this possibility, and think that you might be wondering as well. They are offering a prop wager on whether Gronk will hang up his cleats for good after Sunday’s big game.

Gronkowski’s Future A Hopt Topic
During media day at Super Bowl 53, Gronkowski estimated that he’d fielded between 30-50 questions about whether he planned to play next season.

The interest in the topic is understandable. Last season, Gronkowski, 29 years old, speculated long and hard about whether he would return to play in the NFL again.
He ultimately opted in, informing Patriots head coach Bill Belichick on April 24 that he would play the 2018 season.
The media has even sought out Gronk’s mom Diane Walters to get her take on the subject, but she insists that she has no idea about her son’s future plans.

One thing’s for sure – Gronk will be one to watch on Sunday. In the last two Super Bowl games that he’s played – he missed Super Bowl 51 due to injury – Gronkowski has caught 15 passes for over 180 yards and three TDs.
Why Gronk Might Walk Away
Certainly, injuries have taken a toll on his body over the years. And with more information being discovered about the long-term impact of pro football on the mind and body, maybe walking away by the age of 30 makes a lot of sense to Gronkowski.

After QB Tom Brady, Gronk is easily the most popular of the Patriots, and the most well-known beyond the circle of football.

His influence on pop culture is evident. He’s appeared in the Entourage movie, Family Guy and Wrestlemania 33.

When it’s time for life after football, Gronk definitely won’t be looking for things to do.
Is Gronk Going?
Pressed on the retirement issue, Gronkowski finally suggested he was 51% sure.
Which way? That he didn’t say.

At odds of +500, a yes vote is tempting. But remember, Gronkowski waited until last spring to make up his mind and for you to cash, he must do it on air Sunday.
Brady has already stated there is zero chance he will retire. Fun-loving Gronk isn’t leaving while there’s still fun to be had in New England.
