The Los Angeles Kings did it again; after falling two scores behind came to win in overtime and put this series 2-0 in their favor. The Kings now visit Madison Square Garden this Monday at 8 PM ET, to face the New York Rangers in game three of the 2014 Stanley Cup Finals.
Not only did LA start the game down 0-2, but they entered the third period on Saturday night with a two goals disadvantage.
“It’s not the place we want to be, to have to climb out all the time,” Kings defender Willie Mitchell said. “Sooner or later, it is going to bite you. I guess that’s the great part about it is we find a way to battle back. We’ve got some work to do again.”
For the Rangers on the down side, they dominated both games and will go home empty; on the up side, they have been the better team and that should carry on in the series.
“I think we’ve played close to nine periods now, [and] for the most part, I’ve liked a lot of things about our game,” Rangers coach Alain Vigneault said. “Our guys are trying real hard. We’re going to continue to try. Both games, we had opportunities. We didn’t get it done.”
The puck line for game three has the Rangers 1.5 goals favorite, and the game total is at five goals. The money line listed New York -123 to win their first game in the series, and Los Angeles is +112.
