  • BetMGM has announced Missouri sports betting market access
  • The sportsbook operator has partnered with Century Casinos for Missouri access
  • Missouri sports betting will begin on Dec. 1, 2025

BetMGM has officially gained Missouri sports betting market access.

BetMGM and Century Casinos announced a sports betting partnership in the Show-Me State, which will allow the sportsbook operator to bring its platform to the Missouri sports betting apps market if a license is awarded.

The partnership will allow BetMGM Missouri to operate its online sports betting platform in the state, while also operating brick-and-mortar sportsbooks at Century’s discretion.

BetMGM Chooses Market Access Partner

The agreement will include a percentage of BetMGM’s net gaming revenue payable to Century, which includes a guaranteed minimum.

“We are excited to partner with BetMGM, a leading online sports betting and gaming entertainment company with a dynamic and innovative brand,” said Erwin Haitzmann and Peter Hoetzinger, Co-Chief Executive Officers of Century Casinos, in a press release. “This partnership is another step forward in leveraging our Missouri licenses and delivering premium entertainment experiences for our customers.”

BetMGM representatives reported to Sports Betting Dime in March that it had plans to apply for a sports betting license, but had not yet chose its market access partner. BetMGM had several options to enter Missouri, including an agreement with the Kansas City Chiefs as an official sports betting partner.

Under the state’s sports betting legislation, each professional sports franchise and land-based casino will be eligible for one retail sports betting license and one online sports betting license. Each individual team and casino will also be able to partner with up to one online sports betting operator.

The multi-year partnership is still intact, the BetMGM spokesperson confirmed with Sports Betting Dime, but ultimately is not how the company will enter the market.

Missouri sports betting has been confirmed to launch on Dec. 1, 2025.

Missouri Sports Betting Licensing Process Underway

The Missouri Gaming Commission is currently accepting sports betting license applications. According to a commission spokesperson, no brick-and-mortar or online sportsbook applications have yet been submitted.

Here is the official timeline for Missouri sports betting licensing:

  • May 15: Licensing application period officially opens
  • July 15: Licensing applications due for direct (untethered) online sports betting licenses
  • Aug. 13: Applicants for direct online sports betting licenses may appear before Missouri Gaming Commission
  • Aug. 15: Missouri Gaming Commission announces two selected direct online sports betting license applicants
  • Sept. 12: All other partnered retail and online sports betting license applications must be completed
  • Dec. 1: Missouri sports betting launch

In total, the commission will be allowed to issue up to 19 retail sports betting licenses and up to 14 online sports betting licenses under the approved framework.

bet365 and the St. Louis Cardinals entered into a sports betting partnership in March. The multi-year partnership will provide the sports betting operator with access to the yet-to-be-launched Missouri sports betting market.

Additionally, an Underdog Fantasy representative confirmed with Sports Betting Dime that the company will also be applying for a license. If approved, Underdog Fantasy would hold four live sports betting licenses across the U.S.

DraftKings and FanDuel will also undoubtedly pursue licenses, though their access plans have yet to be revealed. The sports betting behemoths donated millions to the campaign to place the successful sports betting voting referendum on the 2024 election ballot.
