  • Betr announced today it will launch additional core markets
  • Betr will expand into pre-match and in-play betting for moneylines, points spreads, and totals
  • New markets will begin for NCAA tournament games

Betr will no longer focus purely on microbetting as the sports betting operator announced today it will start taking pre-match and in-game bets for several new markets.

In a release, Betr announced it would begin taking pre-match and in-game moneyline bets, spreads, and totals beginning with the NCAA March Madness tournament games beginning Thursday, March 16.

The launch of the new  markets come on the heels of Betr’s Ohio launch and its upcoming expansion into Virginia and Massachusetts online sports betting markets.

New Markets Starting With NCAA Basketball

Betr will launch its new offerings for the start of the NCAA basketball tournament as one of many March Madness betting apps, also announcing that it will feature a 0% on pre-match bets for all tournament games.

In a press release, Betr Founder and CEO Joey Levy said the sports betting operator is now on a path to establishing betting market coverage similar to incumbent operators “which will include the gradual and methodical integrations and launches of core markets, parlays, props, and many of the other betting experiences consumers can find elsewhere.”

“We deliberately launched with only microbetting to 1) launch as soon as possible, enabling us to learn from and iterate our product experience according to real user data and feedback, and to 2) establish ourselves as the company, product, and brand synonymous not just with instant gratification betting, which we believe will be the future of this industry, but to also be synonymous with doing things differently and being the first direct-to-consumer operator in the category to actually differentiate its product experience in an industry dominated by commoditized product experiences,” he said.

The company’s launch in Ohio on Jan. 1, backed by Buckeye State native Jake Paul, was the faster launch from a company founding to a fully licensed and regulated real-money online sports betting operator in the country.

Waiting to Launch in Massachusetts, Virginia

Betr received its latest online sports betting license from Virginia earlier this month. The operator did not give a date for launch in the state, but said it would happen “soon.” Virginia is the third state in the country to approve the operator for a license.

Betr launched in Ohio on Jan. 1 and had planned to launch in Massachusetts on March 10, but had to delay its plans in the commonwealth. Betr announced last week it would have to delay its launch, but expects to launch in the next several months.

Here is the operator’s official statement on the delay:

“At Betr, it is our priority to give our users the best possible experience while using our app. As we continue to work to ensure we can deliver that in Massachusetts, we now plan on launching sometime over the next month, rather than this Friday. We want to thank the Massachusetts Gaming Commission for all of their hard work and collaboration. This is an important milestone for us and we can’t wait to bring our differentiated product experience to sports fans throughout the state.”
