Four More Retail Louisiana Sports Betting Licenses Issued
The Louisiana Gaming Control Board started issuing retail sports betting licenses in October 2021, and they recently issued a batch of four more.
The latest venues to receive these coveted licenses include the Boomtown Bossier City Casino, Golden Nugget Lake Charles Hotel and Casino, L’Auberge Casino Resort Lake Charles, and Margaritaville Resort Casino.

Each of these locations are now authorized to accept in-person sports bets.
It’s worth noting that Caesars Sportsbook Louisiana owns and operates the Horseshoe and Harrah’s properties, while Penn National Gaming (Barstool Sportsbook Louisiana) runs the Boomtown New Orleans and L’Auberge Baton Rouge.
More Operators Are Expected to Be Approved Before the End of the Year
Aside from the eight locations that have been approved, five more operators are expected to apply before the end of the year. Louisiana Gaming Control Board chairman Ronnie Johns recently confirmed these other properties will go through the approval process before 2022 gets underway.

The Louisiana Gaming Control Board will turn their attention to online sports betting in January, so they’re planning to conclude these approval processes for outstanding retail locations. These casinos can operate two online sports betting skins as per their official licenses.
