New York online sports betting handle dipped by more than $93 million and revenues dropped by more than $13 million for the week in the Empire State.

The New York State Gaming Commission reported just over $400 million in online sports betting handle for the week ending June 8. Revenues dropped to a little more than $51.1 million, down from $64.5 million the week prior.

Both decreases were likely impacted by the New York Knicks exiting the NBA playoffs on Saturday, May 31.

One Less Operator Moving Forward

The New York State Gaming Commission reported $400,178,853 in online sports betting handle for the week ending June 8, a nearly $93 million decrease from the June 1 weekly totals. The commission reported $51,145,684 in gross gaming revenue, more than a $13 million decrease from the previous week.

The New York State Gaming Commission releases handle and revenue reports for its nine live NY sports betting apps, Caesars Sportsbook, DraftKings Sportsbook, FanDuel, BetMGM, Fanatics Sportsbook, Bally Bet, Resorts World Bet, ESPN BET, and BetRivers, at the conclusion of each week.

For the third week in a row, DraftKings toppled FanDuel in weekly handle totals, with DraftKings reporting $146.3 million compared with FanDuel’s $137.7 million. However, FanDuel has topped DraftKings in terms of revenue each of those weeks.

New York will soon be down an operator, as Resorts World Bet, one of the nine original operators, will be calling it quits this month. Resorts World Bet notified customers this week that it will officially be ceasing operations on Monday, June 30.

It will stop accepting bets and deposits after June 16. Users will be able to withdraw funds through Sunday, June 22.
