Best Sleeper Picks for CFB Week 11
Making picks is where Sleeper thrives. And this week, there are quite a few great games on the docket, such as BYU-Texas Tech, Oregon-Iowa and Texas A&M-Mizzou. Here’s one pick we like from each of those games:
Bear Bachmeier, BYU Cougars QB: Less 40.5 rushing yards
Texas Tech shuts down every offense it plays. The Red Raiders have the best rushing defense in the nation, allowing just 75 yards per game. What’s most important here is they held Utah QB Devon Dampier to just 27 rushing yards, and the Utes — the best rushing offense in the Big 12, mind you — to just 101 yards. Bachmeier is 2nd behind only Dampier in rushing yards per game among Big 12 quarterbacks, and he’ll have to come to Lubbock looking to do something the best rushing QB in the conference couldn’t do. As a freshman.
Dante Moore, Oregon Ducks QB: Less than 40.5 yards longest completion
This projection just seems wildly mispriced, right? Oregon’s passing offense has not been all that explosive during Big Ten play, and Dante Moore has just 2 passes of 40+ yards against Big Ten opposition this season. Even if Moore throws the ball 30 times against Iowa, it’s still statistically unlikely one of those passes would go for 40+ yards. And don’t forget that Iowa has one of the best defenses in the nation when it comes to preventing explosive passing plays.
Marcel Reed, Texas A&M Aggies QB: More 1.5 Passing TDs
Marcel Reed is probably the most underrated player in college football right now. Is that possible, given he’s the QB for one of the most productive offenses in America? It feels like people still doubt his ability as a passer, and he’s proving a lot of people wrong by leading A&M to a 8-0 record so far this season. Plus, Reed have thrown for 2+ touchdowns in 3 of his last 4 games.
