Global match fixing declined in 2025 when compared with 2024 rates, according to Sportradar.

Sportradar, a leading global sports technology company, today released its “Integrity in Action: 2025 Global Analysis & Trends” report. The annual report noted more than 99.5% of sports event worldwide the company monitored were free from suspicion in 2025.

Sportradar monitored more than 1 million events across 70 sports worldwide in 2025.

Decrease in Match Fixing

In 2025, Sportradar monitored more than 1 million events and identified 1,116 suspicious matches, ultimately a 1% decrease from the 2024 rate. The overall match-fixing rate improved to one in 709 matches, according to report totals, compared with one in 608 from 2024.

“The relative stabilization of suspicious match numbers in 2025 is encouraging, yet it reinforces the importance of continued vigilance. Match-fixing remains an evolving threat, and sustained investment in technology, intelligence, education, and collaboration is essential to staying ahead of those seeking to corrupt sport,” Andreas Krannich, Executive Vice President, Integrity Services at Sportradar, said.

Soccer remained the sport most affected by match fixing, with a total of 618 suspicious matches detected by Sportradar. However, the total decreased by 112 from the 2024 figures.

Match-fixing incidents per sport are as follows:

Europe accounted for the highest number of suspicious matches in 2025, though there were 66 fewer cases compared with 2024. South America reported a decline as well in 2025, with 64 fewer suspicious matches detected. However, Asia, Africa, and North and Central America experienced slight increases.

North and Central America experienced 44 suspicious matches, an increase from 31 in 2024.

AI Detection Increased in 2025

Sportradar utilized AI technology to identify match-fixing in 2025. Sportradar’s AI-powered Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS AI) uses real-time analysis of extensive betting datasets to uncover irregular patterns often undetectable through traditional methods.

The number of suspicious matches flagged by the UFDS AI increased year-on-year (+56%), which reinforced the system’s expanding role in match-fixing monitoring.

In 2025, Sportradar supported 125 sporting sanctions across seven sports and all six major continents, bringing the all-time total to more than 1,000.
