Focusing on Prediction Markets?

Missouri Gaming Commission Chairman Jan M. Zimmerman confirmed the license withdrawal to Sports Betting Dime. A separate member of the Missouri Gaming Commission provided this comment:

“Underdog withdrew their application for a sports wagering license, but they maintain their fantasy sports contest operator license in good standing.”

Underdog confirmed the license withdrawal, but did not offer any further comment.

According to Fox2Now, a Missouri Gaming Commission representative said Underdog planned to focus its future attention on prediction markets. Underdog launched prediction market offerings in early September after announcing a partnership with Crypto.com.

The partnership enabled Underdog customers to trade and purchase sports event contracts across all major sports leagues, including the NFL and college football, the first of its kind between a CFTC-registered exchange and a gaming company.

Underdog Predictions is currently live in Missouri.

Underdog currently offers its daily fantasy sports products in 40 states, plus Washington, D.C., and Ontario. Underdog offers online sports betting in North Carolina, but also holds an Ohio sports betting license and has yet to launch in the Buckeye State.

Down to Eight Operators

Underdog’s abrupt Missouri exit leaves only eight remaining licensed operators for the state’s upcoming sports betting launch. Missouri is launching its online and in-person sports betting markets on Monday, Dec. 1, at midnight.

The state is currently allowing customers to register and fund accounts for any of its licensed operators. These include DraftKings MissouriCirca MissouriFanDuel MissouriFanatics Sportsbook MissouriCaesars Sportsbook Missouri, theScore Bet Missouri, bet365 Missouri, and BetMGM Missouri.

However, PENN Entertainment and ESPN BET Missouri recently announced the cessation of their 10-year sports betting partnership, with PENN officially rebranding its sports betting platform to theScore Bet and ESPN BET shuttering its doors on Dec. 1.

So, how can interested customers register accounts now for theScore Bet, which has yet to be rebranded from ESPN BET? It’s fairly simple. Users can register an account right now with ESPN BET, which will be rebranded to theScore Bet on Dec. 1, 2025.
