The box office holiday season officially starts on the first Friday of November and runs through to New Year’s week. So it’s safe to say that the biggest box-office smash of the holiday season has already been released.

Last year, Star Wars: The Force Awakens cleaned up at the box office and raked in more than $936 Million, three times more than runner-up The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2.

We covered the odds around month ago but two big flicks have been released since: Rogue One and Moana. Those are some pretty big game changers. So it’s time to update you on the odds.

Odds on the Highest Grossing Holiday Movie of 2016

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story: 1/1

Following in the footsteps of The Force Awakens, Rogue One is set to finish on top come 2017. Despite only being released in mid-December, the latest Star Wars flick has already brought in close to $173 million. That puts it behind Doctor Strange, which was released in early November, but there’s still time for Rogue One to overtake the Marvel superhero.

Rogue One brought in $155 million in its opening week, far less than The Force Awakens, but more than any other film this year. It turns out that making another Star Wars is a pretty safe bet.

But, of course, we already knew that.

Doctor Strange: 13/7

The ambitious Doctor Strange is the latest of the many Marvel superhero flicks. As it stands, it leads Rogue One by almost $55 million in total gross. But Doctor Strange has been out since early November while Rogue One is only just getting started.

Strange pulled in $85 million in its opening week, significantly less than its Star Wars counterpart.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: 9/1

The Harry Potter spin-off has made $208 million so far and has been in theaters for over a month. That’s more than Rogue One at this point in time and less than Doctor Strange. Fantastic Beasts can expect a boost from the school holiday rush, but it probably won’t be enough to catch Doctor Strange or outpace Rogue One.

Moana: 97/3

In 2013, Frozen raked in over $400 million, placing it just under The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Moana was hoping to come close to those figures but it has fallen far short. It made under a quarter of what Frozen made in its opening week and has not been able to compete with the other big flicks of 2016.

Still, the latest Disney offering managed to pull in a cool $56 million in its opening week.

Trolls: 1000/1

Trolls is a strange animated musical comedy featuring Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake. It’s exceeded its box-office expectations, pulling in over $46 million in its opening week. But it’s not the kind of movie designed to break records.
