Amanda Serrano (47-4-1) returns to her hometown Saturday night to defend her WBA and WBO featherweight titles against undefeated Reina Tellez (13-0-1). The fight takes place at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan, with DAZN streaming the card starting at 8 pm ET.
This isn’t the fight Serrano expected. She was supposed to rematch Erika Cruz, but Cruz failed a pre-fight drug test two weeks ago. Tellez got the call and jumped two weight classes for the opportunity.
I’ve made my final Serrano vs Tellez prediction, plus broken down the best odds, props and how to watch.
Serrano vs Tellez Prediction
- Fight to go the distance (+120 at BetMGM)
I’m betting this fight goes the distance. Serrano is a volume puncher, not a knockout artist. Her 31 knockouts look impressive, but most came early in her career against unknown opponents.
At 37 years old, Serrano is coming off back-to-back losses to Katie Taylor. She hasn’t stopped anyone at featherweight since July 2024, when she demolished Stevie Morgan in two rounds. Before that, you have to go back to 2019 to find her last knockout at this weight.
Six of her last seven wins came by decision. That includes fights against much weaker competition than what she faced against Taylor. Serrano is comfortable boxing her way to victory when she recognizes her opponent can’t hurt her.
Tellez is young, hungry and has nothing to lose. The 22-year-old was already in camp when she got the call. She’s not walking in cold. She has fast hands and won’t fold easily.
This fight is also 10 three-minute rounds, not the standard two-minute rounds for women’s boxing. That’s 30 minutes of work for a fighter who just spent months training for Katie Taylor at a higher weight. Serrano will need to pace herself.
Serrano vs Tellez Tale of the Tape
The physical advantages favor Serrano. She’s got 5.5 inches in height and a significant reach edge. Tellez will need to work inside, which plays into Serrano’s strengths as a volume puncher.
I predict Serrano wins, but doesn’t get the stoppage. Look for Serrano to use her jab and experience to control most rounds. I expect Tellez to be there to the final bell, and Serrano takes it on the cards
Serrano vs Tellez Odds
Serrano is a massive -2500 favorite at BetMGM. You’d need to bet $2,500 to win $100 on her moneyline. That juice is too high for a fighter coming off two losses, even against an overmatched opponent.
Those -2500 odds translate to a 96% implied probability. Sportsbooks are giving Tellez just a 4% chance to pull the upset. The knockout odds are more interesting – Serrano at -175 to win by KO carries about a 64% implied probability, while her decision odds of +150 suggest a 40% chance.
The better play is the props. Serrano is +150 to win by decision and -175 to win by knockout. Sportsbooks expect a stoppage, but her recent fights say otherwise.

Serrano vs Tellez Props
The round props tell us how long sportsbooks expect this fight to last. BetMGM has rounds 6-10 at +188, which means they think there’s a decent chance this goes late. Rounds 1-5 pays +220.
If you want to get specific, rounds 3-4 at +550 could be worth a small play. That’s the danger zone where Serrano typically does her best work if she’s going to get a stoppage. But I’m sticking with the safer bet that this goes the full 10 rounds.
Tellez missed weight by a small margin, so the titles are only on the line for Serrano. That doesn’t change the fight much, but it does show Tellez had some trouble making 126 pounds on short notice.

How to Watch Serrano vs Tellez
The main card starts at 8 pm ET on DAZN. Ring walks for Serrano and Tellez are expected around 11:30 pm ET after the undercard wraps up.
The co-feature has Holly Holm challenging Stephanie Han for the WBA lightweight title. That fight should provide some context for how long the main event takes to get started.
DAZN requires a subscription to watch. They’re also streaming prelims starting at 2:30 pm ET, which includes a flyweight bout between Yankiel Rivera and Jonathan Gonzalez.
