Julian Lane’s Betting Analysis at BKFC Wichita

Julian Lane’s BKFC run conveys a .500 record, but some thoughtful contextual application is needed.

He has been in there for championship clashes (vs Leonard Garcia at BKFC 4) and has also had a closely contested fight with someone who is now a champion.

Lane narrowly lost via split decision to present reigning BKFC 175 pound champion, Thiago Alves. An affair that some thought Julian Lane should have won at BKFC 12.

Following the Alves war, Lane returned to the win column against Jake Bostwick at BKFC 18 in June.

Julian Lane looks to put together back-to-back wins and get more buzz around his name for a possible second crack at Thiago Alves. But this time with BKFC gold up for grabs. Lane is the +100 underdog in this fight, as he takes on Rickels in the main event at BKFC Fight Night Wichita.

David Rickels’ Pursuit of a 2-0 BKFC Record

David Rickels is most known as a Bellator MMA stalwart who has since notched a 1-0 BKFC record.

The Caveman won his bare-knuckle boxing debut in October 2020 and will embark on his sophomore gloveless effort one year later.

I feel like these two action fighters match up well together, on paper.

Also based on the fact that neither has a knockout in BKFC so far, I’m making the inference that fans will get a barnburner affair from bell to bell.

In the end, I think this will be a fairly competitive fight, but one where I see Rickels getting the W. Take Rickels on the moneyline at -130 in the BKFC odds.

Pick: David Rickels (-130)

Isaac Doolittle vs Jay Jackson

Isaac Doolittle is now 2-0 in bareknuckle boxing overall, and that second win took place in his Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship debut.

I had caught up with Doolittle post-BKFC 13 one year ago to get insights on that first win specifically under the BKFC banner.

There was a tangible energy after the debut win, so there has to be a chomping at the bit style of fervor leading into this second bare knuckle boxing effort in that specific organization.

Jackson is 1-0 on the BKFC circuit and last competed in July of this year. He halted Damon Bell at BKFC 19 in the effort.

Jay Jackson had accrued a lopsided MMA record but applied a fresh coat of paint in that BKFC effort by getting a good result switching combat disciplines.

For this co-feature fight, I think Doolittle will be able to get it done. I was actually fairly surprised to see him as the underdog in this fight, and I think this pick presents great value in the BKFC Fight Night Wichita odds.

Pick: Isaac Doolittle (+135)

Other Picks for BKFC Fight Night Wichita:

  1. Andy Locker vs Marciano Hernandez: Locker has half a dozen gloved boxing bouts and is making his second ring walk in BKFC. Knuckling up and toeing the line against him is 2-0 pro boxer Hernandez who makes his BKFC debut. I think the betting line is a bit lopsided, but I still favor Hernandez emerging victorious. Pick: Marciano Hernandez (-320)
  2. Jake Lindsey vs Eric Thompson: Lindsey is a Bellator and UFC veteran who is readying to take off the gloves to make his long-awaited BKFC debut. Thompson has fought in MMA, bare-knuckle boxing, and also bare-knuckle MMA but is more of a journeyman than Lindsey. I think Lindsey gets it done here. Pick: Jake Lindsey (-250)
  3. Jessica Link vs Charisa Sigala: Though Sigala has a 2-0 record in BKFC, she did go the distance both times against well-regarded opposition in the women’s 125-pound division (Taylor Starling and Pearl Gonzalez). I think there’s a bit of underdog value here to be found in a Charisa Sigala bet. Pick: Charisa Sigala (+125)
