Three-division undisputed champion Claressa Shields returns home to defend her heavyweight crown against New Zealand’s Lani Daniels at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on Saturday, July 26th.

The 30-year-old Michigan native looks to keep her perfect record intact and hold onto her spot as the only boxer – male or female – to capture undisputed gold in three different weight classes during the four-belt era. The current Shields vs Daniels odds have “T-Rex” as one of the biggest favorites you’ll see in championship boxing.

I’ve made my Shields vs Daniels prediction, broken down the lopsided odds, and will tell you how to stream the fight on Saturday.

Shields vs Daniels Odds

Fighter Moneyline Odds
Claressa Shields -2500 to -3000
Lani Daniels +1000

In the Shields vs Daniels odds at BetMGM, Shields sits at -2500 on the 3-way line (including draw) and stretches to -3000 on the 2-way moneyline.

These odds gives her about a 96% chance of getting her hand raised, making this one of the most one-sided title fights on the calendar.

Shields vs Daniels Prediction

Let’s not beat around the bush; the books have the line right. Shields is 16-0 with wins in 15 straight title fights. She’s cleaned house with everyone they’ve thrown at her across multiple divisions. Now she gets a 37-year-old challenger who hasn’t fought since December 2024.

Daniels brings a solid 11-2-2 record, and she’s won seven straight this decade. “The Smiling Assassin” has never been stopped and showed her toughness by completing that brutal Celebrity SAS reality show in the UK. But being tough only gets you so far when you’re facing an all-time great.

Shields vs Daniels Tale of the Tape

Shields
VS
Daniels
16-0-0 Record 11-2-2
3 Knockouts 1
5’8″ (173 cm) Height 5’6″ (169 cm)
68″ (173 cm) Reach 66.9″ (170 cm)
30 years Age 37 years

Every physical advantage goes to Shields. She’s got two inches in height, over an inch in reach, and she’s seven years younger. Add in the hometown crowd at Little Caesars Arena, and this looks even more one-sided.

Shields destroyed Danielle Perkins back in February, dropping her in the final seconds of the tenth round and cruising to scores of 100-89, 99-90, and 97-92. That’s the level she’s at right now: beating world champions left and right.

Sure, Daniels will come to fight. However, Shields is operating on a completely different planet. The American will pump that jab in Daniels’ face all night, dig to the body when the Kiwi tries to get inside, and pile up round after round. This makes me think we’re getting a late stoppage or a total shutout.

The only real question is whether Daniels makes it to the final bell. Her track record says she will, but Shields might want to put on a show for the Detroit crowd.

Shields vs Daniels Picks:

  • Fight to Go the Distance – Yes (+120)
  • Shields by Decision (-150)
  • Total Rounds Over 8.5 (-200)

Why “Fight to Go Distance” is Best Bet

Shields Rarely Stops Opponents

For all her dominance, Shields has just 3 knockouts in 16 fights. She’s a technician who wears opponents down rather than a bomber who ends fights with one shot. 13 of her wins have gone to the cards.

Daniels’ Durability

The New Zealander has never been stopped in 15 pro fights. Even when she lost twice to Geovana Peres, she heard the final bell both times. That chin and heart should keep her standing even if she’s getting schooled.

Championship Fight Dynamics

When the favorite’s this heavy, they usually coast to decisions instead of hunting for knockouts. Shields will probably box smart, pile up points, and cruise without taking any dumb risks.

Here’s the deal: Shields takes this fight ten times out of ten. But at -2500 average, you’re risking a fortune to win peanuts on the moneyline. The distance prop and rounds betting give you the only decent returns in what should be a masterclass from one of boxing’s best.
