Benn should win this fight, and I expect a referee stoppage rather than a clean knockout. He’s bigger, younger, and far more active than Prograis at this stage of their careers.

The size advantage matters here. Benn weighed in at 149.5 pounds after coming down from middleweight. Prograis came in at 148.1 after spending his entire career at 140 pounds. This is the first time Prograis has ever fought above super lightweight, and jumping up 10 pounds at 37 years old is a tough ask.

Prograis has looked vulnerable in recent fights. Devin Haney dropped him with a flash knockdown. Jack Catterall dropped him twice. Jo Jo Diaz had him on shaky legs in the opening round of their fight last August. Father Time is catching up.

Benn showed real growth in his rematch with Chris Eubank Jr. He fought a smarter, more disciplined fight the second time around and dominated over 12 rounds. He listens to his corner and makes adjustments, which is a good sign against a crafty veteran like Prograis.

The conditioning should favor Benn as well. He’s phenomenal in the later rounds while Prograis has shown balance issues and fading legs in recent outings. I expect Benn to apply constant pressure, overwhelm Prograis with volume, and force the referee to step in sometime after round 5.
