Saul “Canelo” Alvarez is set to face off against undefeated pound-for-pound great Terence “Bud” Crawford in a blockbuster super middleweight championship bout on September 12, 2025, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

Early Canelo vs Crawford odds favor the Mexican superstar to take home the W in this undisputed title clash.

This showdown, marking the first boxing match at Allegiant Stadium, brings together two of boxing’s biggest stars in what many see as a career-defining superfight. The venue holds 65,000 fans, with room to pack in up to 71,835 for this massive Riyadh Season event.

Canelo Alvarez is an early -210 favorite over Terence Crawford in the latest Canelo vs Crawford betting odds.

After his lackluster performance against William Scull, the line has tightened from the initial -240 when the fight was first discussed. A draw is priced at +1600.

Canelo Favored in Boxing Odds

The current -210 odds for Canelo Alvarez translate to about a 68% chance he walks away with the win. These odds have shifted since the opening numbers, showing bettors are gaining confidence in Crawford’s chances.

Canelo enters this fight as the undisputed super middleweight champ, having just reclaimed all four belts (WBA, WBC, IBF, and WBO) with his recent decision win over William Scull on May 3. The Mexican star boasts a 63-2-2 record with 39 KOs and has never tasted defeat at 168 pounds, where he’s now sitting pretty at 11-0.

Canelo’s experience at super middleweight gives him a real edge. His brutal body work, slick defensive skills, and ring generalship have made him one of boxing’s biggest draws.

But Canelo’s odds lengthened after his snoozer against Scull. That fight broke records for all the wrong reasons – the lowest combined punches thrown in a 12-round fight in CompuBox’s 40-year history. Alvarez won via scores of 119-109, 116-112 and 115-113 but admitted, “I don’t like to fight those kinds of guys. They came to just survive to the final round.”

Crawford Underdog Against Canelo

Terence Crawford’s odds are sitting at +162, which means he has a 38.2% chance of pulling off what would be a huge upset. It’s pretty wild to see how much those odds have improved since they first started talking about this fight.

Crawford brings a perfect 41-0 record with 31 knockouts to the table. The Nebraska native is making a big jump from junior middleweight (154 pounds) to super middleweight (168) for what looks like the toughest test in his 17-year pro career.

Crawford’s already made history as a four-division champ, including undisputed titles at both 140 and 147 pounds. A win here would make him the first-ever three-division undisputed champ in boxing history – that’s no small feat.

Bud’s got some real advantages, including his technical brilliance, ability to adapt mid-fight, and a 3.5-inch reach edge over Canelo. Even though he’s fought as light as 135 pounds, Crawford isn’t much smaller than Alvarez frame-wise, with both guys standing 5’8″.

The big question mark for Crawford is ring rust. He’ll have been out of action for over 13 months by fight night. His last bout was a hard-fought decision over Israil Madrimov back in August 2024.

Purse Information and Fight Details

This megafight comes with a mega payday for both fighters. Reports suggest Canelo could earn around $150 million for this bout as part of his larger deal with Riyadh Season.  Crawford, meanwhile, is expected to make approximately $50 million.

The bout lands on Mexican Independence Day weekend, but they’ve strategically set it for Friday, September 12. This smart move avoids clashing with college football and the UFC’s Noche UFC card the following night.

Expected Canelo vs Crawford Odds Movement

The current odds of -210 for Canelo and +162 for Crawford have already tightened up quite a bit from the opening numbers. This trend might continue as we get closer to fight night.

If boxing insiders and sharp bettors keep backing Crawford’s skills to overcome Canelo’s size advantage, we could see these odds get even tighter. On the flip side, if people write off Canelo’s Scull fight as just a bad night against a tricky opponent, the odds might swing back his way.

My early prediction leans toward Canelo Alvarez pulling out a hard-fought victory. His size, toughness (never been knocked down), and experience against bigger fighters should be too much for someone like Crawford moving up two weight classes.
