As the Michigan iGaming industry continues to flourish, the three Detroit commercial casinos have had some slightly positive news to start 2026.
According to the Michigan Gaming Control Board, the three Detroit casinos reported just over $100 million in February revenue. That is slightly up from February 2025, which recorded $98 million a year ago.
Thus far in 2026, the Detroit casinos have outperformed how they did the year prior. While not nearly at the rate of Michigan online casinos, it is still improvement.
February Detroit Revenue Tops $100 Million
In data provided by the MGCB, the three Detroit casinos reported $100,001,847 in revenue for the month of February.
The shortest month of the year tends to be one of the lowest revenue months of the year, understandably.
But, the revenue in February has been below $100 million in two of the last five years.
This year’s total was 2% up from the $98,013,727 the trio of facilities did in February 2025.
Here’s a look at how each of the three casinos did last month, compared to a year prior.
- MGM Grand Detroit: $48.3 million, up 4.1%
- MotorCity Casino: $29.4 million, up 3.3%
- Hollywood Casino at Greektown: $22.3 million, down 3.7%
Detroit Casino Revenue up 1% to Start 2026
It’s early, but the Detroit casinos should feel good about their start to 2026.
Thus far, the three have combined for $203.1 million in 2026 revenue. That is 1.4% higher than the $200.3 million it was a year ago at this point.
While not much, it is still growth.
2025 was the second time since returning out of the pandemic that the Detroit casino revenue dipped year-over-year. Yearly revenue for the three since 2022 has been:
- 2022: $1,256,974,742
- 2023: $1,222,794,216
- 2024: $1,282,455,806
- 2025: $1,265,324,361
Despite the drop, the revenue was still the second-highest since 2022. Should 2026 see a year-over-year gain, it could push to get toward $1.29 to $1.30 billion.
While it is a far cry from 2019’s $1.45 billion, getting back to a pre-pandemic level of revenue may not be possible.
Aside from the impact it had on retail business in general, online casinos were legalized in Michigan in 2021 and have skyrocketed in revenue gains consistently since.
In 2025, Michigan iGaming reported $3.09 billion in revenue.
