None of the eight teams in this year’s field reached the CWS last season. Murray State is making its first ever appearance in the College World Series. Other than the Racers, UCLA has the longest CWS drought among this year’s teams, last reaching the College World Series in 2013.

Arkansas has been the outright favorite in the College World Series odds since the 64-team tournament started back on May 30. The Razorbacks eliminated Tennessee, the defending national champion, in two games in the Fayetteville Super Regional (4-3, 11-4).
