Fresh off a two-game sweep of Northern Arizona, Weber State hits the road on Thursday (Feb. 25th, 8 pm EST) to face Sacramento State. The Wildcats (14-5, 9-3 Big Sky) currently occupy third place in the Big Sky, while five losses in six games has pushed the Hornets (7-8, 4-6 Big Sky) down to eighth in the conference.

Not surprisingly, given each program’s recent results, Weber State opened up as a 6.5-point road favorite. The Wildcats have won three straight, and seven of eight overall, and proved again last time out why they’re one of the best shooting teams in all of college basketball.
Weber State Smashes Northern Arizona
The Wildcats blew out the Lumberjacks 74-52, building a lead as big as 27 at one point. Leading scorer Isiah Brown led the way with 15, while Zahir Porter chipped in 13, and three others reached double figures.
Highlights of a great, great, great team win.

Weber State shot 47.5% from the field versus Northern Arizona, a game after knocking down 56.1% of its looks against the same Lumberjacks team. They outrebounded their opponent by 12, produced seven more assists and shot 83.3% from the foul line.

For the season, the Wildcats rank fifth in the nation in field goal percentage (50.9%) and second to only #2 Baylor from beyond the arc (40.8%). They rank seventh nationally in points per game (83.7) and second in the Big Sky in assists.
Defensively, they’re no slouch, holding opponents to 69 points per outing, while ranking first in the Big Sky in blocks, and second in opponent field goal percentage.
Sacramento State Slumping
Sacramento State meanwhile, is stuck in the midst of their worst stretch of basketball of the season. They’re fresh off being swept by Southern Utah, losing by at least 19 points in both outings. They fell 77-57 last Saturday to the Thunderbirds, shooting a dismal 17.6% from 3, and missing 8 of their 14 free throws.
Hornets fall at Southern Utah, 77-57. Thunderbirds used a 13-2 run midway through the 2nd half to break open what had been a close game.

Leading scorer Ethan Esposito carried the offense with 16 points and 8 rebounds, while Bryce Fowler poured in 14, and Christian Terrell added 13. The Hornets allowed Southern Utah to shoot 45.3% from the field and pull down 11 offensive rebounds, which led to plenty of second chance points.
Surrendering a high percentage to enemy shooters is nothing new for Sacramento State, as only one other team in the conference is worse in their own end. They allow over 72 points on a nightly basis and rank 10th in defensive rebounding.
Offensively, they’re a middle of the road program in the Big Sky from a points and 3-point efficiency standpoint, but rank dead last in turnovers.
Roll With Weber State
The Hornets shoddy play has been a goldmine for betters picking against them recently, as Sacramento State is 1-4 ATS in their last five contests. Seven of their eight losses this season have been by at least 8 points, with six of those defeats coming by 12 points or more.
It's GAMEDAY on the road‼️

The Wildcats on the other hand, have been ATS crushers lately. They’re 7-1 against the number in their last eight games, 11-3 ATS as a favorite, and 6-3 on the road. Also working in their favor is a fantastic track record at Sacramento State. They’re 18-8 all-time in the Hornets’ building and I like them to pick up another big win in this matchup.
Pick: Weber State Wildcats -6.5 (-106)
