Arizona has been nearly flawless this year, boasting an exceptional 89% win rate in the loaded Big 12 conference. They’re 7-1 against top-15 power rated teams, while Bart Torvik has them ranked as the best team in the nation. They started the week as the March Madness championship odds favorite, but have since been overtaken by Michigan, in large part due to the Wolverines easier path.

The Wildcats have a massive advantage on the glass in this game, and should be able to feast at the rim. The Razorbacks rank outside the top-270 in two-point defense, which might be the biggest reason why Arizona might win this game.

But I don’t need them to Arkansas to win, I just need them to cover 8-points. They enter play riding a seven-game winning streak, which includes an undefeated run to the SEC Tournament title. Darius Acruff Jr. and Maleek Thomas are exceptional athletes, and a nightmare to defend in transition, and few programs are as efficient from the floor. Arkansas ranks 15th in effective field goal percentage, 10th in three-point efficiency, and second in points per game.

Then there’s Calipari’s history in these types of situations. His teams have been an underdog 13 times during his coaching career, and he’s guided them to a 9-3-1 ATS mark, going 7-1 against the spread as an underdog of 4 points or more.

Add it all up and it equals an Arkansas cover. I’l gladly take +8 with Calipari and Co.
