Tuesday ends a mountainous two-game road trip for the Jayhawks, who lost 74-67 at Utah on Saturday. That marked Kansas’ third straight loss in true road games, which stands in stark contrast to their three-game home win streak.
Zeke Mayo had a team-high 15 points in the loss. The Jayhawks lost the rebounding battle 46-36 thanks to a 16-6 disadvantage on the offensive glass.
BYU suffered just its second home loss of the season to Arizona on Feb. 4 (85-74) and followed up with an ugly 84-66 setback at Cincinnati on Feb. 8. But Kevin Young’s team bounced back with a quality 73-69 win at West Virginia, long one of the Big 12’s toughest road trips, and a thorough 80-65 thrashing of K-State at home on Saturday.
Richie Saunders had a team-high 17 points in the win while Dallin Hall added 16 off the bench, his highest output of the season.

Kansas center, and erstwhile contender in the Wooden Award odds, Hunter Dickinson (16.4 PPG, 9.5 RPG, 2.2 APG) has the co-highest point total of the night at 16.5, tied with BYU forward Richie Saunders (15.0 PPG, 4.5 RPG, 1.4 APG). Dickinson also has the highest rebound total of the night at 7.5, which is two full boards lower than his season average. BYU’s leading rebounder, 6’8 junior center Keba Keita (6.4 PPG, 7.6 RPG) isn’t on the board.
Kansas vs BYU Picks & Predictions
Kansas has been a disaster away from home almost all season. They ‘re just 3-6 straight-up and haven’t beaten a top-50 KenPom team in a true road game. They have had four such chances and lost all four games by at least nine points: 76-63 at Creighton (#31), 76-67 at Missouri (#15), 74-57 at Iowa State (#8), and 81-70 at Baylor (#29)
The Cougars haven’t been perfect at the Marriott Center (12-2 SU) but both losses came against teams that rate higher than Kansas: #12 Arizona (85-74) and #7 Texas Tech (72-67). BYU’s 9-5 ATS record at home is a good indication of well they’ve played in front of their own fans. Kansas’ 3-6 ATS record on the road matches their ugly SU record.
Kansas vs BYU Picks: BYU -3.0 (-110)
