My Picks for Friday of the Sweet 16

GamePlayerHigher / Lower
SJU vs. DUKEZ. EjioforHigher 15.5 points
ALA vs. MICHE. CadeauHigher 6.5 assists
MSU vs. CONNS. BallLower 8.5 points

Zuby Ejiofor (SJU) higher than 15.5 points vs Duke

If St. John’s is going to pull this one out, it’s going to start with their big man setting the tone. With Duke’s Patrick Ngongba II still working his way back from injury, this feels like a spot where Zuby can take control early and stay aggressive throughout.

He’s averaging 16.3 points per game and has proven he can be a go-to scorer when his team needs it most. What stands out with Zuby is his ability to score in multiple ways—finishing strong around the rim, cleaning up second-chance opportunities, and drawing contact to get to the free-throw line. In a high-stakes Sweet 16 matchup, expect him to play with urgency and command touches, making that 16-point line feel very attainable.

Elliot Cadeau (MICH) higher than 6.5 assists vs Alabama

Elliot Cadeau has been Michigan’s floor general all season, and Friday’s Sweet 16 matchup against Alabama feels like the perfect spot for him to go over 6.5 assists. As the team’s leading assist man, Cadeau knows exactly how to set up his teammates and keep the offense flowing. With Alabama likely keyed in on stopping Michigan’s scorers, Cadeau should find plenty of open cutters and shooters, giving him multiple chances to rack up assists throughout the game.

The matchup also comes with a high over/under, which points to a fast-paced, high-scoring game—exactly the kind of environment where Cadeau thrives. His court vision and quick decision-making make him the perfect guy to take advantage of the open floor. If Michigan keeps up the pace, Cadeau should be dishing dimes all game, making that 6.5-assist line feel very achievable for Friday.

Solo Ball (CONN) lower than 8.5 points vs Michigan State

Solo Ball has had some flashes this season, but Friday’s matchup against Michigan State could be a tough night for him to hit his usual scoring marks. While the Spartans may not get the headlines, their defense is ranked 43rd in the country in key defensive metrics, showing they consistently disrupt opposing offenses. They’ll be looking to make life difficult for Ball at every turn, contesting shots, forcing turnovers, and making sure he can’t get comfortable on the floor.

On top of that, Ball hasn’t been lighting up the scoreboard lately, putting up relatively low scoring numbers in recent games. Combine that with Michigan State’s disciplined, high-pressure defense, and it’s reasonable to expect his point total to stay under 8.5. If the Spartans can dictate the pace and force Ball into tough, contested shots, his usual scoring opportunities could be limited, making the under an appealing DFS play for Friday.
