Seton Hall heads to Storrs, CT, as they put their 19-9 (9-8 Big East) record to the test against No. 6 UConn (26-3, 16-2 Big East) at 12pm ET on Saturday, Feb 28. Back on January 13, UConn took care of business as they beat Seton Hall on the road, 69-64.

The Pirates were ranked No. 25 at the (UConn was ranked No. 3) but they haven’t touched the AP Top 25 since. Seton Hall may have gotten off to a red-hot 14-3 start, but since that loss to UConn they’ve only won five of 11 games.

Huskies center Tarris Reed Jr led the way with 21 points on 8-13 shooting. He was the only player to eclipse 20 points in that game. The Pirates leading scorer was junior guard Mike Williams which was a surprise knowing he’s the team’s fourth leading scorer.

Seton Hall vs UConn Picks & Predictions

UConn has only slipped up twice since beating Seton Hall over a month ago. Their recent loss to Creighton was eye opening, but they’ve responded with a pair of wins over Villanova and St. John’s. Their recent 72-40 win over the Red Storm was incredibly impressive knowing they didn’t allow a field goal in the final 17:28.

Other than falling to DePaul on February 18, Seton Hall has been regaining momentum. They’ve won three of their last four, though beating Providence, Butler, and Georgetown is expected for a team like the Pirates. Either way, they’re starting to get back on track as the first UConn matchup turned into a four-game skid.

Spread Pick: UConn -13.5 (-110 at DraftKings)

Knowing what the Huskies just did to Rick Pitino’s squad, it’s extremely hard to believe this game won’t offer up a similar result. There’s no doubt the Pirates have been better, but their 12 point loss to a sub-par team is something that can’t be overlooked. Sure, UConn giving up 91 points to Creighton isn’t a good look, but the way they’ve responded has been far better.

Coming off a 32-point win, UConn is riding high. They’re well prepared for their final home game of the year and likely have had plenty of discussions as to why their first matchup against Seton Hall was as close as it was. At the end of the day, they still won by five points against what was a Top 25 team on the road which speaks for itself.
