College football finally will start this Thursday with the game between the North Carolina Tar Heels and the South Carolina Gamecocks, at Williams-Brice Stadium at 6 PM ET.

The Gamecocks are coming off two straight 11-2 seasons, but they want to improve a fight for the SEC title; something that they haven’t done over the last two seasons.

There’s a lot of buzz about defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, and how he’s one of the best players in the entire FBS.

Jadeveon, obviously, he and `Johnny Football’ are the two guys the whole country’s been talking about,” Head coach Steve Spurrier said, referring to Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel. “And I think Jadeveon’s handled it very well. He’s ready to go.”

“Any game we go into we just want to prove we can get to the quarterback quick and fast in a game,” South Carolina defensive end Chaz Sutton said. “We just want to set the tone with our front four and be that way all night.”

North Carolina is 1-5 ATS in its last 6 games on the road, and 2-7 SU in its last 9 games on the road.

‘It’s a little special to coach against a team like that.  Just like coaching here against Georgia”, Spurrier said about North Carolina. “Anytime you coach against a team that was special wherever you coached at, that’s a special game.”

The South Carolina Gamecocks are 11.5 favorites in the college football odds.
