Model Backs Road Dogs and Unders Again

The AI continues backing road underdogs, taking six visitors plus the points this week. After last week’s success with dogs like Iowa, Alabama and Cincinnati all covering, the model sees more value on the road.

Mississippi State getting 14.5 at Texas A&M tops the list. The Aggies rank among the most penalized teams in the nation, averaging 9.5 flags per game. Those self-inflicted wounds against a Bulldogs team with a +5 turnover margin could keep this one closer than expected.

The college football AI model also loves Vanderbilt catching double digits at Alabama. The Commodores stunned the Tide last year and bring a red-hot offense averaging 49 points per game. Diego Pavia’s legs against Alabama’s vulnerable run defense creates upset potential.

Indiana getting 10 at Oregon is particularly intriguing. This line keeps sliding – it opened at Oregon -14 before sharp money pushed it down. The Hoosiers’ defense allows just 9.2 points per game and forces turnovers at an elite clip.

Sharp Line Movement Tells the Story

Several games saw significant movement that influenced the AI picks. Miami-Florida State dropped from -7.5 to -4.5, with sharp money backing the home Seminoles. The model agrees, taking FSU and the under in what profiles as a defensive battle.

Cincinnati flipped from a 2.5-point underdog to a 1.5-point favorite against Iowa State. That massive swing has the AI siding with Brendan Sorsby and the Bearcats’ explosive offense.

The Texas-Florida total opened at 53.5 in July and has plummeted to 41.5, a staggering 12-point drop. With Texas allowing just 7.8 points per game and Florida’s offense completely broken, the under might be the sharpest play on the board.

Key Matchup Analysis

Ohio State vs Minnesota: The Buckeyes get the model’s backing to cover the massive 23.5-point spread. Ohio State’s defense is allowing just 5.5 points per game while Minnesota’s offensive line has been a disaster. The under 44.5 also looks rock solid.

Virginia vs Louisville: One of only three overs the AI likes this week. Virginia’s offense leads the ACC in first downs and ranks second nationally in touchdowns. Louisville’s brutal 1-5 ATS record at home suggests they can’t cover as favorites.

Texas Tech vs. Houston: The model backs Houston to cover the 11.5-point spread at home. Their defense allowing just 13.25 points per game can slow down the Red Raiders’ air raid just enough to backdoor cover.

The model’s totals performance was spectacular, correctly nailing unders in defensive slugfests like Washington-Ohio State (30 total points) and Iowa-Indiana (35 points). The only misses came in the Penn State-Oregon OT thriller that sailed over and the Alabama-Georgia defensive struggle that stayed under.
