Alabama vs Indiana Player Props Bet #1: Jam Miller Rushing Yards

• Jam Miller Under 31.5 Rushing Yards (-114 at FanDuel)

Alabama’s run game isn’t just bad, it’s completely broken. The Tide rank 131st in yards per carry. For context, that’s in line with no name programs like UMass and Kent State. They rushed for -3 yards against Georgia in the SEC Championship, and averaged 1.1 yards per rush in their CFP first round win over Oklahoma.

You could choose to bet under the rushing total of either Daniel Hill or Jam Miller, but I’m going with the ladder. Miller missed the SEC title game due to injury, before returning for the CFP opener. He mustered only 1.6 yards per carry against the Sooners, and didn’t look 100 per cent.

He’ll be splitting carries with Hill, and the matchup is a nightmare. Indiana’s defense ranks third in rushing yards per game, 11th in yards per attempt, and fourth in tackling.

Alabama vs Indiana Player Props Bet #2: Ty Simpson Under 1.5 TD Passes

The matchup for Bama’s offense isn’t much better through the air. Ty Simpson is going to be under pressure all day, as the Hoosiers hold a big advantage in the trenches. Indiana’s defense is elite at creating havoc, while Simpson’s sack to pressure rate is nearly 20%.

The Hoosiers can generate significant heat rushing just four, affording them to drop seven back in coverage. That helps limit explosives, and forces opposing QB’s to make tight window throws, which isn’t exactly Simpson’s speciality.

Indiana allowed just a single offensive touchdown to Ohio State and Oregon, two of the best offenses in the playoff. Alabama isn’t at that level, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Simpson didn’t throw a single touchdown pass, let alone two.

Alabama vs Indiana Player Props Bet #3: Kaelon Black Anytime TD

• Kaelon Black Anytime TD (+110 at FanDuel)

The Hoosiers are implied for 4 TD in this matchup, and I expect the bulk of those scores to come on the ground. The Tide’s defense is significantly worse versus the run than the pass, and Indiana’s offensive line should be able to bully an underwhelming Alabama front.

Both Kaelon Black and Roman Hemby are legit anytime TD options, but I’ll take Black given his plus-money odds. The senior is the bigger back, and averages more yards per carry. He’s also been the more prolific TD scorer lately, scoring four times in his last five outings, and earned more carries in the biggest game of the season to date in the Big Ten Championship.
