College Football Upset Picks Week 10 – Underdog Predictions for Nov. 1

• After coming so close to a perfect 4-0 last week, I’m fired up for my college football upset picks for Week 10
• There’s a team on a 10-game win streak that’s an underdog on the road, and I think its amazing that Florida State is favored over anyone

Last week, each one of our CFB upset picks was decided by a half-point. I went 2-2 and am still mad at Mississippi State for blowing that big lead in overtime.

Even though it’s been good to me, I am staying away from the SEC this week, returning to what has been working: picking hot teams at home against ranked teams and picking against teams in serious turmoil.

That means you, Florida State. Here are my upset picks for Week 10 in college football against the spread.

CFB Upset Picks: Navy +6.5 at North Texas

No one in college football is talking about the Middies right now. Navy is 7-0 and on a 10-game win streak dating back to last season. After Tulane’s loss Thursday night (which I called, ahem), they’re the only unbeaten team in the American Conference.

They go on the road to North Texas and face a Mean Green squad that is 7-1, 6-2 against the spread and has put up 109 points in its last two games.

If you’ve watched any service academy football in the last 25 years, you know, they just love to grind teams down and shorten the game. North Texas has covered the spread in seven of its last eight games against unranked teams. But Navy should be ranked.

College Football Upset Predictions: Virginia at Cal (+5.5)

This one falls under my category of a ranked team going on the road to a hostile (and strange) environment and laying points.

Cal is 5-3 and 3-5 against the spread, but they play better at home, where they beat UNC and Minnesota and hung with Duke.

Virginia has won three of its last four games in OT. Chandler Morris is playing hurt for the Cavs at QB. Cal hasn’t beaten a ranked team since 2020. I wonder how much Virginia will have in the tank if its close after making the cross-country trip. Hey, it doomed Penn State, remember?

College Football Upset Picks: East Carolina at Temple +4.5

K.C. Keeler is 66 years old and the new coach at Temple, and after years of success at the FCS level (Delaware and Sam Houston State), he’s proven that a good coach is a good coach.

The Owls are 5-3 and need one more win to be bowl eligible for the first time since 2019. People are starting to catch on that Temple might actually be pretty good.

East Carolina has lost its last two games against the spread and is 4-3 this season. Temple has covered the spread in six of its last home games against unranked teams. Unfortunately, playing at the Linc isn’t that big of a home-field advantage for Temple. I still like the Owls to cover.

College Football Upset Predictions: Wake Forest +8.0 at Florida State

This line opened with the Seminoles as 10-point favorites, dropped all the way down to 7.5 and is now ticking back up.

Florida State has lost four in a row. Coach Mike Norvell is a dead man walking. Seminoles QB Tommy Castellanos suffered a concussion at the end of the Seminoles loss to Stanford.

The home crowd can’t wait to turn on Norvell (see LSU/Brian Kelly and PSU/James Franklin), but even so, Wake Forest is good. They overcame five turnovers last week to beat SMU by one. They’re 5-2 against the spread. This one screams grab the underdog.
