The CFP bracket is taking a backseat to the FCS tonight, as the championship game goes down between Illinois State and Montana State. The Redbirds are trying to cap off a Cinderella-type run, but that isn’t likely against a Bobcats team with few weaknesses.
Montana State enters play as a double-digit favorite, which is going to force Illinois State into a passing game script early on. I’m looking to take advantage of that in my FCS Championship props, targeting Redbirds QB Tommy Rittenhouse and his favorite target with two of my picks.
Below you’ll find a table of all the Illinois vs Montana State player prop bets currently available in the college football odds, plus my favorite o/u’s to target in the FCS Championship.
Illinois State vs Montana State Player Props
My best Illinois State vs Montana State player props card starts with over 201.5 passing yards for Rittenhouse. I’m also targeting over 80.5 receiving yards for the Redbirds Daniel Sobkowicz, and over 70.5 rushing yards for the Bobcats Adam Jones.

Illinois State vs Montana State Player Props Bet #1: Tommy Rittenhouse Passing Yards
- Tommy Rittenhouse Over 201.5 Passing Yards (-114 at FanDuel)
Rittenhouse has been extremely efficient this season and should be able to find success in this matchup. The Montana State defense is elite against the run, but injuries and a lack of experience in the secondary make them somewhat vulnerable through the air.
The Bobcats’ top defensive back Caden Dowler is hurt, while Montana State’s starting two corners are freshmen. Rittenhouse has three strong receivers to target, led by Sobkowicz, and the game odds suggest they’ll be trailing for the bulk of the matchup.
Rittenhouse has thrown for at least 249 yards in three straight playoff games, averaging over 36 attempts per outing during that stretch. He was a sizeable underdog in each of those outings as well, and has thrown for 3,257 yards so far this season, over 400 yards more than his previous career high.
Illinois State vs Montana State Player Props Bet #2: Daniel Sobkowicz Receiving Yards
- Daniel Sobkowicz Over 80.5 Receiving Yards (-114 at FanDuel)
On to Sobkowicz, who is one of the best receivers in the FCS. He hauled in 78 catches for 1,089 yards and 18 TD this season, showcasing elite skills in traffic. Sobkowicz made 31 contested catches this year, dropping only four passes. At 6-foot-3, he’ll tower over the Bobcats corners, and Rittenhouse will not hesitate to throw him jump balls to expose the height difference.
Sobkowicz has 29 catches for 403 yards so far this postseason, with 7 TD. He’s considered one of the top-two FCS wide receiver prospects for the upcoming NFL Draft, and another strong showing tonight could vault him to the top of the list.
Illinois State vs Montana State Player Props Bet #3: Adam Jones Rushing Yards
- Adam Jones Over 70.5 Rushing Yards (-105 at DraftKings)
Montana State has two elite running backs to attack Illinois State with, and as 10.5 point favorites there should be no shortage of rushing volume to go around.
I prefer Adam Jones slightly over Julius Davis, as he’s the bigger, more physical back. He’s the type of RB you can wear down opposing defenses with, and there’s a big edge for the Bobcats offensive line in the trenches. That unit features four All-Big Sky selections, and helped propel the Montana State rushing attack to an average of 230+ yards per game.
Jones is fresh off three straight 100+ yard performances, and I expect him to sail over 70.5 rushing yards tonight. If you want to get aggressive, you can also bet him to rush for 100+ yards at +182, something he’s done four times since the start of November.
