Florida vs Miami Player Prop #1: DJ Lagway Passing Yards
Look, the kid’s been a turnover machine, but I like DJ Lagway to bounce back on Saturday night. After all, despite the six interceptions, he’s completed 71-of-100 passes for 629 yards on the year.
Florida ranks ninth in passing rate in the nation and the Gators will need to throw the football early and often to keep pace in a game that profiles as shootout, with a total of 51 points. Don’t forget, Lagway can really sling the rock.
Plus, Miami’s secondary is allowing opposing quarterbacks to complete a wild 69.5% of pass attempts, and rank 83rd in yards allowed per dropback.
Additionally, the Canes have already allowed 10 explosive passes of 20 yards or more on the year. The space will be there for Lagway and the Gators to attack, and after a rough outing against LSU, I like him to go to work against an exploitable Hurricanes secondary.
- Pick: DJ Lagway over 229.5 Passing Yards (-114)
Florida vs Miami Player Prop #2: Malachi Toney Receiving Yards
Toney’s been money in the slot for the Canes so far this season, reeling in 18 catches for 228 yards and one touchdown through two games. The Miami native has insane quick-twitch athleticism and separation skills that can’t be coached.
With Carson Beck slinging the rock for the Hurricanes, Miami ranks 29th with 307 passing yards per game. Beck is completing nearly 80% of his passes with a seven-to-two to interception ratio on the year.
The Gators front is menacing; however, their coverage has been exploitable so far in 2025. Florida allows opposing receivers to haul in 60% of passes, with an average of 12.3 yards per catch. In fact, starting corner Dijon Johnson has allowed four receptions for 83 yards and a touchdown already this season. Toney will eat the Florida defensive backs alive.
I like Malachi Toney to continue his torrid start to the season, with another big game in Hard Rock Stadium in front of his hometown fans on Saturday night.
- Pick: Malachi Toney over 71 receiving yards (-114)
