College GameDay’s making a controversial stop in Miami for Week 4. The decision to pick an unranked Florida team visiting No. 4 Miami over ranked matchups like Illinois at Indiana has many CFB fans questioning ESPN’s logic.
The Hurricanes host the show at Lakeside Patio on campus. Florida Panthers star Matthew Tkachuk becomes the first NHL player to serve as celebrity guest picker in the college football odds.
College GameDay Details
GameDay heads to Miami’s campus for the first time since 2017, when the Canes crushed Notre Dame 41-8. The Canes are 7-1 all-time in GameDay appearances.
The Hurricanes are 3-0 this season and looking to stay unbeaten against a Florida team that’s been a disaster after losing to USF and LSU.

Pat McAfee was the only Gameday Crew picker to post a positive record last weekend. McAfee nailed huge upsets, including GA Tech vs Clemson. He was also the only one on the set to predict the Texas A&M upset vs Notre Dame and the WVU upset win over Pitt.
Florida vs Miami Odds & Analysis
Kickoff: 7:30 PM ET on ABC at Hard Rock Stadium
The total has plummeted from 55.5 to 50.5 after DJ Lagway’s five-interception disaster last week. Miami’s Carson Beck has been surgical with a 7-2 TD-INT ratio.
Florida’s offense has been a complete liability. Lagway has six interceptions through three games while the Gators manage just 12 points per contest. Miami’s averaging over 300 passing yards behind Beck’s elite play. With Florida’s pass rush generating just two sacks all season, Beck should pick them apart.
- Our Pick: Miami -7.5 (-110)
Other Week 4 Featured Games
Auburn at Oklahoma
Line: Oklahoma -6.5 | Total: 48.5 | Kickoff: 3:30 PM ET on ABC
This SEC opener features former Oklahoma QB Jackson Arnold returning to Norman with Auburn. The line moved from Oklahoma -4.5 to -6.5 as money poured in on the home team.
Oklahoma’s defense has been dominant, holding opponents to 0-for-4 touchdowns in the red zone. But their -5 turnover differential is a massive red flag. Auburn’s rushing attack averages 5.8 yards per carry and could exploit that sloppiness. Arnold’s revenge factor makes Auburn attractive catching points.
- Pick: Auburn +6.5 (-108)
Texas Tech at Utah
Line: Utah -3.5 | Total: 57.5 | Kickoff: 12:00 PM ET on FOX
This Big 12 battle kicks off FOX’s Big Noon Saturday. Both teams are 3-0 with Texas Tech averaging 58 points per game while Utah’s posted a 94-15 scoring edge.
The line has bounced around, opening at -3.5 before hitting -3 and now back to -3.5. Behren Morton has been nearly flawless while Utah’s Devon Dampier brings dual-threat ability. The altitude at Rice-Eccles Stadium and Utah’s dominant 290 rushing yards per game give them the edge to control this game.
- Pick: Utah -3.5 (-110)
Illinois at Indiana
Line: Indiana -5.5 | Total: 47.5 | Kickoff: 7:30 PM ET on NBC
The first ranked matchup between these teams since 1950 deserved GameDay consideration. Indiana’s averaging 52 points per game with 300-plus rushing yards.
Illinois counters with Luke Altmyer’s 72% completion rate and a defense allowing just one touchdown per game. Computer models slightly favor Indiana but this projects as a coin flip. The Illini have played the tougher schedule and can keep this close.
- Pick: Illinois +5.5 (-110)
Michigan at Nebraska
Line: Michigan -2.5 | Total: 45.5 | Kickoff: 3:30 PM ET on CBS
The Wolverines travel to Lincoln without suspended coach Sherrone Moore. Dylan Raiola faces his first major test leading the undefeated Cornhuskers.
Nebraska’s Raiola has a pristine 9-0 TD-INT ratio through three games. Michigan counters with Justice Haynes, who’s rushed for 100-plus yards in all three games. The hostile Memorial Stadium environment and Nebraska’s revenge motive after last year’s 45-7 loss give them the edge.
- Pick: Nebraska +2.5 (-108)
Maryland at Wisconsin
Line: Wisconsin -10 | Total: 44.5 | Kickoff: 12:00 PM ET on NBC
The line ballooned from Wisconsin -7.5 to -10 despite Maryland’s 3-0 start. The Terrapins lead the nation with seven interceptions and have generated 10 sacks.
Wisconsin’s offensive line struggled mightily against Alabama with communication breakdowns. Malik Washington has been efficient for Maryland with a 6-1 TD-INT ratio. The Badgers are just 1-4 ATS in their last five games. Maryland’s defense can keep this within the number.
- Pick: Maryland +10 (-108)
