One of the handful of college football games on Black Friday features a ranked SEC showdown between the No. 4 Georgia Bulldogs and the No. 23 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
Kickoff is set for 3:30 pm ET at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, with ABC on the call.
Can Kirby Smart’s crew solidify their College Football Playoff spot with a 12th win, or will Brent Key’s squad play spoiler and strengthen their bowl-game outlook? I’ll break it all down with my Georgia vs Georgia Tech predictions, picks, and how to bet Black Friday football.
Georgia vs Georgia Tech Predictions
- My UGA vs GA Tech prediction: Georgia 35, Georgia Tech 21
Despite both Georgia programs being ranked, the Bulldogs are still laying double digits. Oddsmakers opened Georgia as a 13-point favorite with a total of 59.5. The total has held steady, but the Bulldogs have climbed to -14.
My Georgia vs Georgia Tech prediction sees a 14-point Bulldogs victory, pushing the spread and the total under in a game where Georgia controls the clock. The Bulldogs’ offense should exploit a Yellow Jackets defense that’s allowed 42+ points in both recent losses.
Georgia Bulldogs Analysis
Georgia’s lone loss came in Week 5 against Alabama, a 24-21 road defeat. Since then, they’ve rattled off seven straight wins, averaging 33.3 points per game while allowing just 16 per contest over that stretch.
Gunnar Stockton leads a Georgia offense ranking 13th in EPA per play and 17th in success rate. Stockton has thrown for 2,465 yards with a 19-4 TD/INT ratio, completing 71.4% of his passes while adding eight rushing touchdowns and 361 yards on the ground.
Sportsbooks are posting Georgia’s team total between 36.5 and 37.5. The Bulldogs have hit 38+ points in only four games this year. I don’t think scoring will be an issue, but backing an over that high feels risky.
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Analysis
Georgia Tech had been rolling until a 48-36 loss at NC State a few weeks back. They followed it with a narrow 36-34 win at Boston College before falling last week to Pitt, 42-28.
Senior quarterback Haynes King has put together a strong campaign – completing nearly 72% of his passes for over 2,500 yards with 12 touchdowns and four interceptions. He’s also been a major threat on the ground, racking up 883 rushing yards and 15 rushing touchdowns on 168 carries.
Even with how imposing Georgia’s defense can be, containing King is no easy task. And truthfully, this Bulldogs defense isn’t what it once was. They rank just 78th in EPA per play allowed.
Offensively, Georgia Tech has been excellent – eighth in success rate and 12th in EPA per play. Their downfall has been the defense: 116th in EPA per pass, 115th in EPA per rush, and 107th in overall defensive success rate allowed.
In Georgia Tech’s two losses, they allowed 48 and 42 points. Kirby Smart’s offense is far stronger than NC State’s and Pitt’s, so expecting a third loss – and another high number allowed – is reasonable.
My projection has this landing around 35–21, with Georgia pushing the spread and the total sneaking under. If the spread dips below -14, I’d strongly consider laying it. Otherwise, I’d prefer to look for an in-game spot – especially if Haynes King gets the Jackets on the board early and buys us a better number on the Bulldogs.
How to Bet Black Friday Football
Where I do see value preflop is in the prop market when looking at how to bet Black Friday football. The Yellow Jackets defense should get overwhelmed in this matchup, and if Georgia plays to the spread, we should see a heavy emphasis on the ground game as the Bulldogs look to control the clock and time of possession.
That sets up a strong opportunity for running back Nate Frazier to clear his rushing yards prop of 60.5, currently available at -114 on FanDuel.
The sophomore is averaging 5.4 yards per carry and posts 12 carries for 64 yards per game. Those numbers should only rise in this favorable matchup. Georgia Tech is allowing 168 rushing yards per game and 4.7 yards per attempt.
Expect Frazier to be involved early, find consistent running lanes, and cruise past this rushing number.

Georgia’s -625 moneyline gives them an 86% implied probability to win straight up, while Georgia Tech sits at +455 with roughly an 18% chance of the upset.
On the spread, the Bulldogs are favored by two touchdowns at -14, and the 59.5 total expects a high-scoring game between these two offensive-minded teams.
