  • The Hawaii vs UNLV showdown features a 63-point total tonight
  • The Rebels rank 101st in scoring defense, and 120th in yards allowed per game
  • See below for my Hawaii vs UNLV player props and same-game parlay picks for late-night college football

If you like offense, you’re going to want to stay up late tonight. That’s because Hawaii (7-3, 4-2 Mountain West) visits UNLV (8-2, 4-2 Mountain West), in a matchup that has all the ingredients to turn into a shootout. The latest college football odds are predicting a high-scoring affair, but I don’t think the 63-point total is nearly high enough.

Kickoff for this Mountain West showdown is scheduled for 7:30pm PT, 10:30pm ET from Allegiant Stadium, in Las Vegas, NV, with FS1 providing the broadcast coverage.

Here are my Hawaii vs UNLV player props and same-game parlay picks.

Pofele Ashlock (HAW)57.5 (Ov -114 / Un -114)-125
Jackson Harris (HAW)96.5 (Ov -114 / Un -114)-290

Let’s start our college football player props card with over 96.5 receiving yards for the Rainbow Warriors Jackson Harris. The UNLV pass defense is a mess, opening the door for another Harris ceiling performance. I’m also betting on an anytime touchdown for Rebels QB Anthony Colandrea, who’s got a dream matchup versus a Hawaii defense that couldn’t stop a nosebleed.

Hawaii vs UNLV Player Props Bet #1: Jackson Harris Receiving Yards

Harris enters play tonight on an incredible heater. He’s caught at least five passes in five straight games, clearing 108 receiving yards in each outing. He’s been north of 115 yards in four of five games, and has racked up 130+ yards in three of five contests.

The 6’3″ sophomore has a ridiculous 17.4 average yards per reception this season, with at least one 35+ yard catch in five straight games. Hawaii throws the ball at a 61.73% clip, and the matchup tonight favors an even heavier pass happy attack.

UNLV Defense Stats

StatRank
Points Per Game101st
Yards Allowed Per Game120th
Opponent Red Zone Scoring %111th

That’s because the Rebels enter play with one of the worst pass defenses in the country. They rank 103rd in yards allowed per attempt, and 101st in passing yards surrendered per game. Their pass rush is middling and they struggle to create havoc, meaning Micah Alejado is going to have all night to sit back and wait for his favorite target to get open.

Hawaii vs UNLV Player Props Bet #2: Anthony Colandrea Anytime TD

Nobody will confuse Colandrea with a top Heisman Trophy odds contender, but he’s actually been outperforming some of the favorites over the past month. The junior has thrown 9 TD passes over his last five starts, and has rushed for an additional 6 scores.

I like him to find the endzone with his legs tonight, as running the ball down the Rainbow Warriors throats is the quickest way to find success in this matchup. Hawaii’s defense is a respectable 52nd in EPA/pass allowed, but ranks 125th in EPA/rush allowed.

TOTAL HAW vs UNLV SGP ODDS+ 325

Moving over to my Hawaii vs UNLV same-game parlay picks, where I’ve put together a three-leg SGP with a +325 payout if it hits. I’ll start with my favorite two player prop picks from above, and add Over 63 as the anchor leg.

Both teams have a clear defensive weakness that the other can exploit. Each program is also extremely proficient at scoring inside the red zone, while both their defenses can’t keep opponents out of the box.

Only two teams in the country have a higher red zone scoring percentage than the Rainbow Warriors, while the Rebels rank 15th in that metric. Defensively, they’re 90th and 111th respectively in opponent red zone scoring percentage, and both are outside the top-80 in yards allowed per play.
